Yeah that’s kind of where I’m at. I absolutely agree there is Trump fatigue and as hard as everyone worked to remove him from office four years ago, it’’ll be that much more of an effort to keep him out and we’ll also have the advantage of another four years of new Gen Z voters that we didn’t have before.

But that said, the Republicans in power know full well they’re becoming a minority and if they don’t have the numbers, they’ll just do whatever they can to bend the rules to their will instead. They’re guileless, spineless, pathetically ignorant and stupid people, but they also scare the absolute shit out of me.

I think the only way I’ll ever feel safe from another term of Trump is when he is six feet under. I just see a never ending mass of stupid fucks who scream that they are proudly stupid. Or maybe worse, people who just don’t care for anyone than themselves. There are too many people who vote who believe the most obvious lies. Here in Florida, people tend to vote for democratic laws, but then vote Republicans into office who either stop that law from happening or strip it of almost any value. Like letting reformer felons vote again. I just don’t know how anyone who deals with the general public has any optimism. There are so many awful people.

I will stop taking Lexapro when he dies.

He is uniquely suited to motivate the stupidest among us in a way nobody else can. Without his veil, normal GOP policies and even culture war bullshit only has so much pull. The last few elections prove this and the younger voters are fired up, organized and hate him. They’ll turn their fire on corporate Dems soon enough and god bless for that.

The only thing that can save him is, as mentioned a million times, Democratic apathy to the GOP being a literal criminal enterprise masquerading as a government. Thankfully, the new lawmakers among millennials and Z’s especially treat politics like the zero sum game it is and the contempt the GOP deserves. There is no reaching across the aisle or “my friend from the other side” because the shit we disagree about is no longer marginal tax rates or whatever but the existence of groups of people, self governance and survival of our species. Hard to find any middle ground and deservedly so.

That’s my hope for the future. The panic in that guys abortion post above is exactly this. They know they caught the car and they don’t know what to do with it now. May they all be fucking doomed for eternity.
