I think Fake Out might be my favorite here. So damn catchy.

I was trying to think of an appropriate comparison. My point of reference would be something like All My Friends Are In Bar Bands by The Wonder Years or It's Not Interesting by Spanish Love Songs, but they didn't invent the concept. I picked What A Catch because it's, you know, FOB. My point was it's a reprise.

And reprises can be good, just this one here, the syntax of the line does not work for me in its new context. I think it would be better if they had cut the "I'm not sure" part and just kept "What would you trade the pain for". If it works for others then hey, I'm happy to be in the minority.

my first album was either aaron carter "aaron's party," backstreet boys "millennium," or n*sync "no strings attached"

    can't say for sure which

But “I’m not sure” is a great part.

The "I'm not sure" makes the line IMO

First self-purchased album was Foo Fighters - The Colour And The Shape... I wanted that, but my mom would only let me get the Toy Story soundtrack for some reason so I went back to Target on my own like a week later and got it myself.

Edit: Toy Story, not the Buzz Lightyear soundtrack lolol

This album has made me realize I'd like to see them take a stab at a Bond song.

Also noticing a lot of Coheed-esque parts in a lot of the songs.

I keep thinking he says "somewhere between Mike Tyson and Leno" in Flu Game

If you like the gothic orchestral tracks on this album and still think you don’t like Mania, I strongly encourage you to listen to Church, Heaven’s Gate, and Bishop’s Knife Trick. It’s a slightly different production style, but they’re cut from the same cloth.

Nope, got a minute into that and turned it off. Hate that Imagine Dragons sounding production.

which one? Church is definitely the weakest of the three and benefits least from the production. I can’t actually imagine Bishop’s Knife Trick in any other style, and I have a soft spot for Heaven’s Gate because I danced to it at my wedding.

Listened to those three Mania tracks, Bishop's is good but I don't hear an ounce of correlation between those other two songs and this album lol
