This is just the "arraignment", so basically for normal people this is after we've been arrested and charged, probably sat in a holding cell for some hours waiting to be processed, we go down to the court room for the arraignment. There they read out the charges, we would enter our plea of guilty or not guilty, and then they decide if we need to be held in prison while waiting for the trial date, if we need to post bail to get out, etc. So obviously even if Trump is ordered by the judge to be held with bail, he would make bail and go home.
