Anyone have a good third party leather Apple Watch band?

 

id be curious too. Nomad ones look great but I’ve heard the quality is questionable, especially for the price. Always surprised there aren’t more prevailing options for these kinds of accessories.

for whatever reason the two most-recent Ventura betas I've gotten (13.3 and 13.4) have taken a much longer time to boot than normal. 2020 mac mini, m1 chip 8 GB memory. still only talking about like ~90 seconds vs my normal 15-20 seconds but still. wonder what's up with that...

The move is expected to help the automaker gather more data about how consumers drive and accelerate a strategy to incentivize vehicle-related digital subscription services. Notably, GM was not included in Apple's list of automakers that plan to offer the next-generation CarPlay experience.

Got an Apple Card and a Watch Ultra today on a whim. Typing that out and reading it back I realize that’s probably not something you should do on a whim but here we are lol.

First watch since the original, I’m pretty excited.

 

I honestly don't know what I'd do without my Series 8 now (my first Apple Watch). It allows me to track my calories with ease and keep my weight training on track.

Not only that but having notifications on my rest keeps me away from my iPhone for longer.

 

How do AirPods 3rd gen do when in noisy environments (train, walking next to a highway)?

I use a pair of Shokz and while I exercise but I have to nearly blast them to hear the music. Would prefer a separate pair of headphones that don’t require that.

 

I'm surprised by the number of people whose main requirement for a car purchase these days is CarPlay or Android Auto. I only ever had an aftermarket head unit with the functionality, so I didn't how popular it truly got over the years. Apparently it's a non-starter for a lot of people if a new car doesn't have it. I don't understand how GM thinks people are going to want a full Android system that's constantly sucking data from the vehicle and harassing users with subscription offerings. No thanks! It's an even worse move to punish the EV's and keep the CarPlay system on the gas vehicles instead. That's quite backwards.

I'll be interested to see what EV brands are doing in the next few years, especially with the new CarPlay system on the horizon. I'm planning on paying our current vehicle off (it's a well-despised brand here for good reason) and keeping it going for as long as possible without another car payment.

 

I would not consider a car without CarPlay. I almost didn’t consider the car we bought this past fall because it had wired CarPlay and our previous one was wireless.

 

Wired CarPlay is so annoying lol. I know there’s an expensive adapter but, still.

 

CarPlay is an absolute must for any car I’d consider buying

 

Subaru's own system isn't actually too bad, i actually think i like their own integration of the GPS more than using carplay's apple maps, but yeah, carplay would be an absolute must.

 

Not well at all. You would want to get Airpods Pro if you need noise cancelling.

 

Guessing 11's will be a no-go for iOS 18, right? Suppose it'd be time to upgrade by then...

 

11 seems to be just before the cut off. The “newest” phone getting the axe seems to be the X.
