Triple posts are so cool, y'all. :100:

Scarlet Witch never seems to get attention but is low key one of the best comics by the Big 2 on shelves every month. :scarlet: This issue was illustrated by Shutter's Leila Del Luca, which was a pretty perfect fit. I love this exploration of Wanda's past, with her mysterious Scarlet Witch mother and the High Evolutionary and all that. When this series inevitably ends (which hopefully won't be for a while), I hope Wanda ends up in a team book with a writer who does right by her.

Also read Champions. The writing was fun but also really effective, particularly at the end. Between this series and the premise of Occupy Avengers, Marvel is really embracing the idea of superheroes making a street-level, immediate difference in people's lives. Too bad Ramos is on art... Some Ms Marvel panels are really cool, but as a whole, I just do not like this guy's art. Oh well. Hopefully the series is the hit Marvel seems to want it to be.

Absolutely loved Cage! Really fun read and definitely a throwback style, minus the large amounts of dialogue the older comics tend to have.

Can't wait to check out JJ, Moonshine, and Cannibal. Hoping to get to them tomorrow.

@Tim Agreed, I never talk about it, but I've read every issue of Scarlet Witch and her story is actually pretty entertaining to follow. It's doing ALOT for her character. Hopefully she ends up back on Uncanny Avengers, although with Pietro still there I could see that not happening.

I think Emma Frost and the Cuckoos will be popping back up in the present either during IvX or RessureXtion. The X-Men have always been one of my favorites, and I'm glad that after Civil War things will be focusing strongly on the mutants. I hope the coming conflict and resolution put them back in a good place. Put Emma and the Cuckoos on the Uncanny team. Drop the O5 team (please, they are so boring) and replace them with an Astonishing/Amazing X-Men/X-Factor team with second/third rate mutants we haven't seen in a while. Make a team out of Rachel Grey (who finally just popped back up), Havok (where is he? still evil?), Polaris, Sunfire, Gambit, Armor, and Pixie.

I kinda hope U.S.Avengers has a planned end, so that the New Mutants can reunite ahead of their upcoming movie. Now that they're all more experienced, some even Avengers, have them teach the next generation of New Mutants. Bottom line, there are so, SO many great opportunities for the X-line after IvX. If only they grab them.

I don't want Wanda in Uncanny Avengers 'cause I've never had any interest in that series, lol. Out of current team books, the best fit for her would definitely be Waid and Del Mundo's Avengers. Her magic would look incredible in that art style, and I'd love to see her and Vision interact on a regular basis.

I like that US Avengers exists simply for the visual of Squirrel Girl in patriotic garb and Red Hulk with that mustache, lol, but that series idea is such a puzzling one to me. I definitely would like to see that team eventually fold and give birth to a New Mutants reunion of sorts (either as "New Mutants" or something else), though if we're assuming it'll happen with the movie, that won't be for a while. We'll probably get at least a couple big summer events between then and NOW! B-) If nothing else, I'd like a nice reunion miniseries.

Just out of curiosity, what would your dream X-Men roster series look like? Like, imagine there's a big event (you know, like IvX), leading to a complete relaunch of that line. Assume any characters and creators are on the table (within reason; no Grant Morrison and Jim Lee or anything, lol). Pick one writer, one artist or art team, and like 6-7 characters. I'll do the same, but I'm curious to see yours first.

Hmmmmmmm. I think for characters, I'd have to go with:

    Rogue - Team Leader
    Nightcrawler - Fav
    Shadowcat
    Gambit
    Dr. Nemesis
    Pixie
    Quentin Quire

That was hard as fuq. I tend to gravitate away from the obvs like Cyke and Wolv. I REALLY wanted Magik, but she wouldn't really gel well with this team I think. She does best with Cyke, Emma, Magneto, etc. I would've chosen any of the New Mutants, but I hate the idea of separating them. Quentin Quire is a character that I've always enjoyed, and I like the idea of Rogue and Kitty forcing him to grow up and act like an X-man, and I think Pixie is underrated as fuq. Dr. Nemesis is their tech/scientist, so he would usually stay at home base unless he was specifically needed in the field. This would allow for a rotating guest spot of for any X-students.

For writer, hands down Jonathan Hickman. i want a long, winding, twisting tale. For art/art team, anyone with a less exaggerated style. I vastly prefer the more realistic, detailed styles. I really like the work Greg Land and his team on Uncanny are doing right now. That's like the ideal style for X-Men.

What don't you guys like about Ramos? I think I've only really spent time with his stuff on Spiderman but I love his art. Honestly he's probably my favourite Spiderman artist.

Just had a look at some of the art for that series and I love it, looks perfect to me. Is he on the whole series or is it going to be one where the artist changes every couple of issues? Either way it looks like something I'll love, I just want to get a bit more caught up on Marvel before reading something like that, I can't wait to get to it though.

Saga volume 4 is depressing as fuck so far.

Huh, your team is interesting. Definitely very different from mine, though I do love Rogue as team leader. I feel you on not wanting to split up the New Mutants, but I also get happy when they show up elsewhere, like when Sunspot and Cannonball were in Hickman's Avengers. I was real close to picking Hickman as my writer! If/when he returns to Marvel for a new ongoing, I want him on an X-book for sure. Ha, Greg Land might be my least favorite comic book artist, though, and should never work for Marvel again as far as I'm concerned, so you lost me there!

    My roster:
    Storm (leader)
    Emma Frost
    Beast
    Forge
    Karma
    Nightcrawler
    Jubilee

    Writer: Gail Simone
    Artist: Javier Rodriguez
    Colors: Jordie Bellaire

I dunno if Marvel could get Gail, but I think she'd be great at capturing what I see as the core of the X-Men: a lovable, diverse (in multiple ways) bunch of misfits working together for a greater good. Storm is my favorite non-Wolverine mutant, so I built somewhat around her. I think this team would have a lot of neat interactions and dynamics between characters.

As a huge Spider-Man fan, this post is a stab to my heart, lol. I think Ramos captures energy well, and I'm not a stickler for anatomy, but the shapes he makes just look goofy and distracting to me half the time.

    Bennett and Epting? On Batwoman?

    Take all of my monies!!

EDIT: I do enjoy how life is funny sometimes. Bennett was supposed to write Wonder Woman for DC, but got dropped last minute for Greg Rucka. She is now writing Batwoman, a character that Rucka had a hand in defining in 'Tec. All's well that ends well!

Comixology is having a big sale for NYCC. I got Deadly Class vol 2 and black science vol 2 for 5.99 each and Head Lopper vol 1 for 7.99.

Thinking about buying vol 3 of both deadly class and black science while they're half off as well

Sheeit. I meant to pick up Head Lopper. Next time.

I love Katana so much, but this SS Most Wanted book is pretty bad. I wish they would have continued her New 52 series. That was dope.

I was looking it up after reading in here and it seems like a lot of people don't like him, ha. I guess I can understand some of the complaints but I was definitely surprised since I've always viewed him as one of the better artists I've seen on Marvel's stuff. I saw some people saying they didn't like Chris Bachalo too though and I adore him so maybe it's just completely different tastes. I think almost all of his stuff looks great. There's a few things people pointed out that I did think looked off but even then I didn't think anything was too bad.

Who are some of your favourite Spider Man artists? I've only really spent time with Ultimate and the stuff leading up to and beginning Superior Spiderman but I also really like Ryan Stegman and I've got mixed feelings about the art in Ultimate, I really love his Spiderman stuff but sometimes the faces of certain characters don't work for me, I really don't like the look of Peter in that series.

Wow, Bennett and Epting on Batwoman is one of those things that sound so obvious and perfect after you hear it. Such a great choice.

Ha, Bachalo is excellent, and shame on people who disagree! He's basically "what if Ramos was good," lol. His figures are wild, but his pages are always excellently composed from start to bottom. I've never felt that way about any Ramos page I've seen. There just isn't that same sense of style, creativity, and personality that Bachalo constantly churns out.

I do not care for Stegman, lol. He doesn't turn me off to a book like Ramos does, but I'm never excited to see his work. I will bite the bullet and read the Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows he's illustrating, though. If you like his work on the character, you should read that when it comes out, too! Married Peter is so great.

My favorite Spider-Man artists are John Romita (Sr), Tim Sale, Paolo Rivera, Chris Bachalo, Sara Pichelli, Marcos Martin, David Marquez, Todd McFarlane, and Emma Rios. Some of those artist have unfortunately only drawn him here and there, but their work on the character is the most exciting I've personally seen.

I grabbed C.O.W.L volume 1 and 2 on the comixology sale. I read issue one and always wanted to continue. really liked the art and it was Kyle Higgins writing on Nightwing and Batman Beyond 2.0 that brought me over to it.

I do like Chris Bachalo more than Ramos in general. I didn't know he's worked in Spiderman. I'm very interested in Renew Your Vows although I haven't read any married Peter yet, I love him and Mary Jane together though so I'm excited to read that.
