This is insanely more diverse than I expected. I could even see backlash? It's not as anthemic. I dig the more mature sound.

Stairs just keeps on getting better with every listen.

Also, to answer the question above, I'd say maybe Eighteen sounds a bit like a NHA song. It's still more poppy, but has the short, anthemic feel of NHA. If it didn't have the female backing vocals, it'd probably sound even more NHA.

 

Vaguely? Yeah.

This feels more like a natural progression rather than a complete reinvention of their sound. I think that if you like Never Hungover Again, you will probably like this. The closer might be the closest to NHA, don't quote me on that.

I love how much variety there is on this record and love how much poppier a lot of these tracks are. It's a great evolution of their sound, sounds fresh for the band while still delivering on a concise, short and sweet album. "Last You Heard of Me", "Make Me Dumb", "Stairs", "This Song is a Mess But So Am I" (yes I realized I listed nearly half of the record) are my highlights so far.
