It honestly feels like the fest is on the brink of cancellation, he’s lost a lot of money, and is spiraling looking for someone to blame. Blaming strangers on social media is a very strange choice.

 

Can I get a quick recap of what's happening ? I'm confused

 

Someone made an Instagram page scamboozle highlighting all of John D’s bullshit and he’s been threatening the owner with imaginary lawsuits etc, as well as sending DMs to people who commented on the page and picking fights with them lol

 

And he’s tried to doxx the owner of the page and (apparently) got it wrong and dragged some random person into all the drama.

and he threatened to show up at the (wrong) person’s house and hold an “anti bullying” campaign in their front lawn and give free VIP tickets to whoever comes

and he’s having his friends/family/fans DM people threats as well

 

Jesus Fucking Christ I did not know about that last part.

 

Highlighting the bullshit. Like problematic stuff? Or just like underdelivering a bad festival stuff?

I'm just concerned/making sure we're not going too far and attacking the bamboozle guy. The festival sucks nd it under delivered but let's not get nuts and harass bully him

 

I’m not convinced john actually has any friends

 

He deserves to be bullied. He’s done nothing but lie and deceive people the entire way, and he’s definitely been the antagonist when it comes to being combative. Dozens of comments of him attacking fans for voicing very real and reasonable concerns about what they paid for

 

I mean the fest did undeliver and the scamboozle page was just highlighting all the lies, promises not kept, the black lighting of people disappointed by the lies and ways he led people to believe it would be wwwy esque. In my opinion they weren’t doing anything wrong and it’s escalated in totally the wrong direction this week and that escalation is solely at the feet of John D.

 

He flat out lied a dozen times about the festival in an effort to get people to shell out $400 per ticket before a lineup was announced. He also said refunds would be offered if they didnt like the lineup. None of his promises came true, and when people asked about refunds he called them losers and told them to fuck off.

To recap, he said his lineup would blow WWWY out of the water, he said he'd have 9 arena/stadium level headliners, heavily implied that All Time Low and Yellowcard were on the lineup....even after Yellowcard's manager confirmed they weren't playing he was still leading people on in the IG comments that they were gonna be announced soon.
Multiple artists have dropped off the lineup and he took his sweet time removing them from the poster. One artist (Blackbear) is still being promoted as being at the festival even though he confirmed on twitter a month ago that he's no longer performing.
Oh and when Limp Bizkit and Steve Aoki were first announced he promised that they were NOT part of his 9 headliners. And then when the final lineup was released they were in fact listed as headliners.

That's just a little bit of his bullshit. It's not that the lineup is underwhelming, it's that he is preying on former fans for money, and harassing anyone who voices concern.

 

Eh. Idk. This feels a little too much and gross for my liking. Its gone from laughing and going omg I can't believe how terrible this is, to stuff like this.

Seems unnecessary and just mean. I feel bad for people that already bought tickets and stuff but idk. Dont like it

 

heavily implied MCR, FOB, Midtown, promised the early bird would be the absolute cheapest the tickets ever would be, promised a marketplace to sell tickets and then took his sweet time opening up, switched to three different ticketing platforms, like you stated promised people could get refunds if the lineup didn’t deliver, not to mention the 25 years of bullying within the NJ scene.

 

Oh almost forgot, he also promised like 12 exclusive scene reunions.

 

what seems unnecessary? A page calling someone out on their lies? Being dishonest? Like no one actually did anything to him up until he personally starting going after people who comment his festival sucks?

 

I suggest go back a page and read that article from 2008 about him. He has a 20 year reputation of shady business practices, stealing money, and trying to blackball artists who don't work with him.

Him harassing random fans in social media comments is just bringing to light the shitty person he's been behind the scenes for years.

 

I guess. I mean no one would have cared or brought that up if fall out boy and my chem were headlining this. I'm not saying he looks like a good guy and I've been pretty aware of how embarrassing the bamboozle story has been, its just this feels like a lot of people upset at a bad lineup and its going a step too far

I feel like the only person actually making anything personal is John D. As far as I know no one has threatened to show up at his house like he has threatened. I think the scamboozle page was all things related to the festival.
