Doc feature Oscar nominee All The Beauty and the Bloodshed just got added to HBO Max.

Go check it out. IMO it should have won over Navalny.

 

Now I'm thinking about what German shows I want to watch after I finish Dark. Maybe Barbarians, Deutschland '83, or Babylon Berlin.

I have heard Generation War and Das Boot (the series) are good but are also heavy on the "clean Wehrmach" myth bullshit, which is essentially Germany's equivalent to our Lost Cause mythology.

 

Hahaha no no it’s okay, I’m just still sad about JDF, and the idea of his daughter picking up the mantle excites me. When I first heard about this special I was pretty put off by the idea of someone stepping into the Green Ranger suit but when I then heard the idea of Jenna taking over, that stopped me dead in my tracks and I suddenly very much wanted that to happen.

 

Has anyone seen Boo Bitch? I saw a clip that spoiled a major plot point but now I kinda wanna watch it

I thought Boston Strangler was solid. At least one sequence seemed directly inspired by Fincher's Zodiac. Appreciated that the movie played it straight for the most part and didn't try to do anything crazy, which I think works best for stories like this.

 

Gf and I started watching Below Deck: Mediterranean and it's constantly walking the trash line for me. First season was a fun watch, probably gonna jump around a lot. It's very fun to get pulled into such heightened drama, especially getting to chat about the episodes with someone irl

 

Watched that Waco Netflix doc, now I am rewatching the Waco limited series on Paramount+ in anticipation for the new season of Waco on Showtime next month. There is the 2 parter Waco episode for that FBI True show on Paramount+ too.

Media right now is all aboard the Waco depiction train for the 30th anniversary, but there is no projects coming up for the 20th anniversary of Iraq.

You think that is bad don't even ask how many things I end up watching about 9/11 every September. I have seen that Hulu limited series with Jeff Daniels in full at least 3 times.

I called 911 today, true story.

 

Usually every year around that time a new doc or something is always promoted on the front page of some streamer's UI I end up checking out, and leads to a domino effect.

In case of The Looming Tower on Hulu it is just really good and underrated limited series.

When I was 13 years old, the downstairs phone rang in my house and I picked it up and said hello and all I heard was “911 what is your emergency?” and I thought it was a prank call so I hung up. Immediately rang again and the operator was like “sir please don’t hang up, what is your emergency officers are already on the way” and I was like wtf I didn’t call you!!

So a few minutes later police, ambulance, and a fire truck pull up to my house and the police are at my door, and I’m trying to explain I never dialed anything and just picked up a call and nobody believed me (my parents did years later cause I maintained my innocence), but those pigs were talking down to lil old me and lecturing me about about the dangers of prank calling 911
