the interludes are really weird, album is probably a solid 6 or so. overall it almost sounds like they didn’t *really* want to make a pop punk record again but phoned one in for fun and this is what we got

love from the other side was def best choice for a single, not sure there’s another one that could have been a better choice on here

 

so good right now is def headed for some old navy commercial or something with that chorus tho

 

Lol this album just gets crazier and more impressive with subsequent listens. The second half of "Heaven, Iowa" is unreal. And that guitar lick while Patrick goes falsetto in the chorus of "Hold Me Like a Grudge..." good lord.

It is funny, I must look for something different from this band than others because I feel like I'm listening to a different album when people call the midsection weak. "Fake Out," "Kintsugi Kid," and "What a Time to Be Alive" are my least favorites (I enjoy the whole record) and I adore "So Good Right Now" and "Flu Game." The latter sounds like a way better version of every Panic! single since like 2016 lol

The interludes are part of the 13-chapter story that is this album. Maybe I'm the only one that sees that.

"scar-crossed lovers" is such a pete phrase I'm surprised it hasn't already been on a fall out boy album already

 

"flu game" is so awesome and i'm surprised people aren't into it

feel like reminding "so good right now" haters that they probably like weezer

Haha, it hasn't happened in a very long time. I kinda caught myself off guard when I went into full on Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club mode lol

 

both are good and I bet Rivers fucking loves this album lol

 

Fake Out went from my least favorite to most favorite pretty fast lol

 

lmaooo what a time to be alive whoever said earth wind and fire wasn't kidding

 

I like this record a lot. Definitely my favorite of theirs since Folie. The only track that didn’t really resonate with me on first listen was So Good, but it was fine. Excited to give this more listens

 

Bout to start my 4th listen and It just keeps getting better.
