Rewatching 3 now and the tattooed ladies in pink are cool. Don’t be a hater Josh.

Just starting up 3. I think two should have ended with him saying the “I’ll kill them all line” and then start credits of him starting to run. The scenes where they pull his file are at the start of 3 and Winston was very clear on what was going to happen in an hour. Ending on the line would have hit harder. But it’s such a small thing, it doesn’t matter. Just how it hit me just now.

So I thought I bought a ticket for today at 8 and one for tomorrow at 7 in case I couldn’t go tonight but I actually have one for 7 and 8 today. I don’t know which one to go to! 7 I’d be home earlier and it’s a bigger screen but it’s completely sold out whereas 8 the seats next to mine are still empty.

Not as good as the first two, but a little better than 3 despite some similar issues. Shamier Anderson is great.

I’m glad it’s “ending,” seems like they’re getting awful close to parodying themselves and had too many ideas — need to scale it back a little.

They look like they should be on trashy Facebook memes with fake Marilyn Monroe quotes on them that girls from my hometown share non-ironically

When I just got my ticket, they accidentally put in for a ticket for Jesus Revolution. He noticed it the same time I did. I told him I’m seeing a slightly different movie.

Oh my god. These fucking monsters just strolled in with a baby. Fuck my life. They sat right next to me. The baby has already cried. I moved up 6 rows or so. Hopefully that’s enough to not hear it during the movie.

I am considering leaving and coming back tomorrow late morning/early afternoon. I shouldn’t have to make that decision. FFS

  15. Unsurprisingly, this was very good. Probably the slowest JW film for the first hour or so, but it absolutely pays off as it gains momentum and basically flies by considering its runtime. The poker scene and the fight that ensues is THAT scene for me, as is the long-take shot of John from above.

There are some things I didn't love -- Mr. Nobody felt unnecessary to me -- but they really, really nailed the ending and you can feel how passionate the filmmakers are not only about these films, but for Wick as a character. It felt so good to see a big action movie like this have actual stakes.

I still think the second film is a masterpiece -- it's the first time these movies really explored how far they could go, how big and memorable the sequences could be, and I don't know if another moment in these movies has made my jaw drop as much as John shooting Santino in the hotel -- but even the "worst" John Wick movie would be other franchises' best, and when it's all said and done, I'm just so happy that we have a franchise that feels so joyous and uncynical towards its audience.

The ending puts it above 3 for me. GOATed film franchise.

Oh yes, the overhead stuff was so good. Also, the fat suit was awful; stop doing that Hollywood.

  17. I didn't think it was that egregious, but I know it's part of a larger problem overall.

  18. original cut was 3h45m apparently lol

seeing this at 11, super super pumped

It just seemed like a pretty obvious suit, especially with how much focus there was on his hands — and just in general it looked off/distracting.

It truly is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of the Wick franchise. Fucking sick as hell

If we are doing spin-offs, just focus on Tracker and Akira.

  22. For those wondering, there is a post-credit scene with Akira and another character (don't wanna spoil the movie) but it's nothing game-changing

This absolutely fucking ruled. The roundabout scene was insane as was the overhead scene. Fucking loved it. Need to rewatch 1 and 2 but right now I’d go 2>4>1>3
