Least favorite of the 3, but still good. Probably good to get a single to bring my expectations back down to earth after A&W lol

i need some more weird shit to happen with this album, haha. she's still on the right track by making it sound somewhat different than before (which i appreciated hearing on Blue Banisters after how unoriginal Chemtrails sounded), but i'm hoping she experiments more than we're expecting.

I'm sure there will be. I still think there was more experimentation on Chemtrails than it's given credit for. Idk what else in her discog sounds like White Dress, Dance Til We Die, or Breaking Up Slowly.

But I do still prefer Blue Bannisters and am hoping this will surpass both. Seems like there's going to be a lot of gospel influence on this between this new song Grants, and the "don't forget me" end of the title track. Plus the two interludes. Will be interesting to see how she pulls it off.

yeah, oddly enough, White Dress was my favorite on that album (she also did a good job covering For Free). it's not that Chemtrails is a bad album, but after the highs she reached on NFR, i wanted her to take it in a newer direction, and Blue Banisters got closer for me.

80 minutes for Ocean Blvd is plenty of time to throw in some experimentation. here's hoping it heads that direction.

Ya I don't disagree. It was definitely a step down, and Blue Banisters was a step back up (even if not as high as NFR)

Agree with this, I don’t even remember what the first single sounds like, wasn’t my style, new single is pretty and vocals are great but it feels more like a long interlude as opposed to a single

If it's leaked, probably a LQ version as I haven't seen it at any of my usual spots.

sounds like HQ, but missing one song, so that explains it

Yessir it did, full album minus one song in HQ

Fine, I’ll listen to the incomplete leak. Who needs dignity after all.

Great, the four minute interludes really are four minute interludes.

I am excited for this but the comments in the leak thread got me very hyped+ listened to Paris, Texas and that’s already much more what I wanted compared to the singles

been going through her discography again to prepare for Ocean Blvd. Chemtrails is still lower on my list for her, but even though it slightly treads familiar ground, i can appreciate it for what it is. conversely, i relistened to Lust for Life again and forgot just how much the back half drags.

As an aside, I find the sheer quantity (not to mention quality) of her catalog crazy. 8 studio albums in 11 years is nuts.

especially when you consider how many leaks she’s had, and a lot of them are amazing songs!

Also, in the last decade, I believe she's only done 3 proper North American tours.
