A game changer for myself and I'm sure a lot of folks in here.

I don't necessarily need another copy. As the Hot Topic press I own sounds pretty decent. But I'll more than likely double dip on this one!

Let's just hope they get the title right this time!

does NOT have the original version of what it is to burn, new version is not very good when you compare em.

What! Why not include the original? It’s a classic.

    Better than you, sorry

Yeah like others said the original What it is to burn is the only one that matters. Listened to it for months before the video was released and heard some new garbage.

100%, the original is the definitive version for sure.

    Aaaachem!

I never understood why the original was a "demo" or whatever. It sounded the same as the rest of the original album. Was the album ever released without any version of the title track?

Wow, I can't believe I'm the outlier here, but I hate that original version. The snare sounded horrific, and I just liked the overall cleaner production on the later version that matched the rest of the record. One of my fond memories of my time on AP.net is of finally replacing that older "demo" version on my copy of the album with the proper one thanks to a kind dude sending me a download via DM.

    Man, I love this album.

If you want to compare, Spotify has the original version. If you search for Welcome to the family, it's on that drive thru compilation.

The synth is way better in the original.

    This!
Also, the vocals in the "original version" are muffled. It sounds VERY much like a demo.

Just looked this comp up. Had no idea there was an alternate/demo version of RX Bandit's Mastering the List! What a great find!

    D'oh! Prestigious

I guess it's usually whatever anybody's more used to. Pretty sure the new version works better with the whole final production, but I don't really remember too many differences now besides some Pro Tools effects, would probably have to do an A/B test

    Oh, the intro was longer

there's something to the reverb on the chorus of the demo version that just took me back. I got so used to the album version, but this one has an absolutely palpable energy that made me feel like I transcended dimensions haha

I've always loved Nate's voice. He was such a star frontman too. I had such high hopes for Back To Oblivion. I hope they resurrect again in the future with some kind of evolved cross between SHTS meets WIITB.

Finch are another band that should have been waaay bigger than what they were. I honestly hate the fact that they ride so much off of their debut as they were / could have been so much more.

they went to weird to fast on their sophomore album and that alienated the majority of their fans plus casual fans so i think that had something to do with it AND the inner band drama with members and you know that old chestnut.
