wouldn’t consider myself a fan of ska whatsoever but for some reason I fuck with the 100 Gecs take on ska when it comes up in their songs ha. I think their general silliness helps sell it for me.

 

Plus it’s one song instead of 10-12 lol

 

Would love to cop this on vinyl, and I'm usually not one to complain about this, but $30 for a 26-minute album!?

The nice thing about gecs ska is it’s more in debt to 70s/80s ska like Madness and The Specials as opposed to like, Sublime and shit

 

also why does the dumbest girl alive riff sound like crazy train, welcome home, and thunderhorse had a baby

 

I did not "get" the earlier 100 Gecs business and remained off the hype train but one listen to this and I dig it.

 

this doesn't hit the peaks that 1000 gecs had but it's a solid follow up. i'm happy that they delivered w/ such high expectations looming. i also don't really like IGMTR as the penultimate track. didn't expect to vibe with the softer songs like most wanted and frog like i have been.

 

This is growing on me a lot but I think the first half is a lot stronger than the second.

 

The start of "I Got My Tooth Removed" before the party comes in, sounds just like The Wonder Years haha

 

Wow I really can’t listen to anything but this album

 

SOMETHING from this fucking record is in my head at any given hour of the day and I'm not mad about it. hey, I heard you met my friend the other weekend

When i first heard the tie fighter blast noise my jaw dropped, so cool

 

Can’t believe how this band was able to get the lyric “interior gas station McDonalds” stuck in my head seemingly forever

 

I've also sadly been "smokin since 11"

 

why is this the best album of the year so far

im speechless at its genius
