Sorry to derail the thread all - but just for a moment!

It's cheap on console - $24.99 - so I think its at a price point where it's at least worth finding out for yourself. I say it cautiously, as I think there are still issues that may make some people say it's a bad/broken game still. These are my console problems, but they're all things I've gotten over for the most part. I'll say what I like about it as well though... Some of these will be negated on PC.

    - The inventory font is comically small, and I have heard/seen many complaints that even on huge TV's, it's difficult to read, and you pick up a LOT of shit with stats in the tiniest font, that well.... if you can't read them from your preferred seating arrangement, then good luck knowing what to equip. I have had to move from where I normally sit to get over this.
    - There's also just too much inventory in general, and the crafting is poorly explained and under utilized. I find myself just picking up shit and wondering why...
    - The combat is goofy and the enemies are so unrealistic from both an AI and health perspective. They are just bullet sponges in the worst possible way and rarely behave in a coordinated/smart manner. You also get to the point where you get good weapons pretty early, and the game becomes pretty easy where you just have to have the patience to mow down the enemies. There are a lot of ways to play it, stealth, hacking, melee, shooting, but it rarely forces you to think and combine those methods, and for the most part you can just brainlessly run into a combat encounter and come out of it from brute force alone.
    - I haven't found any technical bugs, but you'll have to tweak the graphics imo, to have it look its best. Just google the graphics settings on PS5, and basically play around with it yourself. There's like 6 effects that are turned on automatically and I have turned nearly all of them off and it looks way better.
    - It's not truly open world. Things tend to spawn in the same places at the same times, and the cops just come out of nowhere when you're being a deviant. I haven't really felt like I have come across a random occurrence, or discovered a secret that other people haven't.
    - It's a stylistic choice, but the way that armor is applied, means that the best gear may make your character look like a total asshat who would be shredded to pieces. The stuff that looks like it'd protect you, isn't the best stat wise. I think this is meant to give you more choices and maintain your style, but it can look pretty stupid.

    What I like:
    - It's just a cool game. The core plot and the mechanics (the hacking, the brain dances, the fixers, the missions) all just ooze style, and I find myself playing for hours at a time just lost in it.
    - It looks gorgeous. Once I found the graphic settings I liked, it's a marvel to look at (imo - I still see people complain about the visuals)
    - The main story (got maybe 60% before), is really good, and there are some fantastic side quests.
    - I like all the voice acting and the side characters that you meet, befriend and romance are all great.
    - Its very cinematic and stylized and that to me more than makes up for the lackluster combat and gameplay systems (crafting / upgrades) etc.
    - I have heard that your starting choices (nomad / street kid / corpo) don't impact the game as much as advertised but I'm not finished yet to say. I've been a nomad both times, and I like where that starts you, and I like the additional dialogue options it unlocks.

“But we don’t want people who watched 'The Last of Us' to think we’re all going to die,” Javaid said. “This is an infection that occurs in extremely ill individuals who are usually sick with a lot of other issues.”

Wild how they actually reference the show in the article lol.

A warning for those that are going into season 2 blind: Variety just spoiled probably the biggest plot point of the second game on Twitter, so be careful out there.

I must not be seeing the tweet you guys are seeing because all I see is a tweet that says season 2 has a shocking twist which really isn't a spoiler at all lol. Spoiler tagged anyways in case someone disagrees for some reason

It'd be one thing if it was coming from a website that more heavily covers video games. I'm not sure Variety's reader demographic is full of people that have played the game lol.
