The song technically wasn’t even released when outbreak day in TLOU happened so we already have that going for using the song.

 

I wonder if Eddie would be less or more understandable crooning as an early stage infected.

To clear up any confusion, in Season 2 there needs to be a cold open showing Pearl Jam right before the outbreak in 2003 recording "Future Days". Eddie Vedder will say something like, "hey this is a really special song but maybe we don't release it until 2013" And then they see what's happening in Jakatara on the news. Pearl Jam then burns a bunch of bootleg CDs containing this song. Cut to - on one of Joel & Ellie's adventures, Joel finds one of the Pearl Jam CDs, and realizes he has just discovered a never officially released Pearl Jam album. This will make everyone happy and ensure no one gets fired for that blunder

 

Since the HBO show was written after Part II was completed, they know have the hindsight of the larger themes at their disposal when revisiting moments from part I. With this in mind it only just occurred to me now how Kathleen’s whole arc is basically ripped from Part II’s cycle of violence

 

Based on this, id guess a new IP is whats in the works, but its so cryptic.

I also hope factions is some kind of multiplayer/campaign hybrid that adds meaningful world building to the story.

 

They better have the TV version of Abby just as jacked as she is in the game. Can’t wait to see who they end up casting in the role.

I know a lot of people want it to be Shannon Berry because she looks a lot like Abby.

 

I just started replaying this game for the first time after only playing it when it first came out, I'm excited to experience it again. I'm already picturing Pascal and Ramsey doing this stuff too

 

It will be difficult to find a decent actress who is that jacked. Interested to see how they get around it.

 

Yeah, I don't see them finding someone that big, or hiring someone that's willing to get that big in the short amount of time before filming, unless HBO is planning on giving the actress the Marvel Hero 'Roid Treatment. Katy M. Obrien is the only actress I can think of with the right physique that also has okay acting chops, but she's at least 10 years too old. I do like Shannon Berry and I think she's got the right build to get in shape enough (but not quite to video game Abby levels) before filming.

 

they could just film it in reverse and have her bulk up while they're shooting, as abby losing her physhique is canon

With TLOU:II, we enter territory where the character models are in play for casting.

In terms of looks, you can't do much better than Jocelyn Mettler for Abby or Cascina Caradonna for Dina. And Ian Alexander *is* Lev.

Side note: If they don't cast these folks, I assume they'll get cameos, which will be weird. I'm looking forward to seeing Shannon's too.

More than muscles, the actor hired to play Abby requires thick skin. Gina does not qualify.

 

well she should also be able to act, obviously I was just making the suggestion in jest. that woman blows chunks.

 

The only one of those people that have had significant acting gigs is Ian Alexander, who I would be down to have reprise Lev, because he also played Lev in the game. As for Mettler and Caradonna, both were literally only used for the character models. Mettler has zero acting experience and is just a game dev, and Caradonna is an amateur actress/musician. Neither of them will be considered. I’d be surprised if they even get cameos.

 

I think the actress they will choose to play Abby will looking nothing like her game counterpart and everyone will throw an absolute fit and it's going to be glorious and sad at the same time.

 

It would be cool to have Ian Anderson back as Lev, apparently Ian wants to do it too.

 

Yeah I saw people mention Katy O’Brian and then she even said she’s too old. Though I don’t think that’s a big deal and I would love to see losers seeth cuz she’s POC

 

I think compared to Bella it would be too much of a difference age-wise since Abby and Ellie are supposed to be close in age. And then Bella already looks young as it is.

 

I Never thought about how old Abby is but also I don’t think it super matters?

 

Give me 40 year old Abby IDGAF
