Hoping they announce a second Seattle show. Definitely surprised how many tours I've seen this year that are doing either a Seattle or Portland date but not both.

This is what happens when there's a ticketing monopoly. The fans can be pissed about it, the artists can be pissed about it, but at the end of the day it comes down to Ticketmaster being able to go "where else are you going to buy/sell tickets?". I'd love for a competitor to show up and actually participate in halfway decent business practices, but we saw how it ended up for Pearl Jam baci in the day.

I thought NFTs were slowly dying out. Is this no longer the case?

A7x shills them, they had a meet up for people that bought them in NYC last year. I know a guy that went and he's spent like 3k+ on 3 nfts. The band didn't even play they just hung out at a bar for a few hours and met people.

So basically if I didn't get off the waitlist for the Cure today I shouldn't expect to be able to get tickets on Friday?

You might get lucky, but probably not. I got a text at like 8 pm that I was off the waitlist for MSG and somehow got lucky enough to get one seat by itself on Wednesday & Thursday. If you're up for traveling I'll gladly sell you the one for Thursday at face if you don't get a ticket!

I cant believe there's such outrage from people about The Cure and their prices. Stop looking at the "fees" amount and just look at the total cost. $50 to see a huge legacy act, at an arena, in 2023, on a tour that has such high demand, is an absolute steal. The fact that you're able to get in the door for under $120 is amazing in this day and age, and a 50 buck price tag for an arena show has basically been unheard of in the last 5 years.

I mean you can still admire the base ticket price and be rightfully outraged by the extortionate fees. $120 is a lot of money for a lot of people

I think considering the point of the ticket prices personally overseen by Robert Smith so that everyone could afford to see The Cure, he is allowed to be upset by an added on $17-$25 in fees.

From my understanding the fees break down like this:

FACILITY CHARGE - Venue rental fee, probably in the form of a kickback for using TM but this goes to the arena
SERVICE FEE - Split between promoter, artists and ticketing agency. Maybe The Cure opted NOT to take part of this so it goes to the promoter/ticketing agency
PROCESSING FEE - Ticketing fee, probably for platform charges. This is probably the most fair of them all though I'm confused as to why they are also charging a "Service Fee".

I foolishly used to believe that the ticketing fees were a percentage or proportion of the ticket price.

For sure but I think Robert Smith's mission was accomplished. People are posting screenshots on Twitter showing that their $42 ticket to see the Cure as actually $20 with a $23 fee and I guess my point is....does it really matter what part of that total amount goes to ticketmaster fees? In the end you got tickets to an arena show for 40 bucks. That's about as affordable as you'll ever get. That's a huge triumph in 2023! Especially when on the same day Drake tickets went on sale for $650 after fees. And for a more comparable artist, Blink 182 tickets going for $450.

Yeah, agreed. Honestly, I don't see why we can't just have all-in tickets. It's more of the realization that half your price goes to the fee. If people saw a bigger breakdown of the ticket price where, likely, only 10-15% is profit for whoever they're going to see, they'd be even more outraged (Crew Fee, Stagehand Fee, Lighting Fee, etc.)

    Not a tour, but:

I foolishly hope one day they will reunite and I have to sell my car and a kidney to be able to go see them.
