The committee are Best Buy people and didn’t want to give Fry’s electronics the jumpstart it needed to come back

It’s not an “own,” it’s a legit comparison. That’s the closest thing that exists that I can compare it to.

Aftersun was definitely my favorite of last year. Just a heartbreaking, beautiful piece of work. I am glad EEAAO got the win here because of all the positives already mentioned. I liked the movie and it has the added bonus of revitalizing Ke Huy Quan’s career as well. I…don’t understand JLC’s win over Stephanie Hsu, but hey you can’t win ‘em all.

I would’ve liked to see at least one Tár win. An ideal world would have had more Aftersun, Nope, and Causeway nominations.

aftersun should’ve been nominated for best picture and should’ve won. after that, tár. but uh decent results and a decent show anyway. major compliments from me as i fucking hate the oscars

Sorry I see how that looks, I didn’t specifically mean you! Your post is fair for sure. Just have seen it compared lot in general pejoratively

One day, the Oscars will recognize Kelsey Grammer’s amazing turn as Darius Emanuel Grouch III, aka "The Rumble" in “Money Plane.” But I’m happy for those won.

Happy for EEAAO, and especially KHQ, but man I really wish Banshees or Tár had gone home with something
