I mean, this "tour" has like eight dates. Four in May (Boston, 2 x NYC, NJ) and four in October (2 x CA and WWYF).

I wouldn't call them skipping any city a surefire sign that they'll be adding more dates in the future. Maybe they do Riot Fest and a short midwest run in the late summer/early fall. But it definitely doesn't seem like a surefire thing if the band is having to use like, vacation time to pull this off. LOL

I could be way off but since they weren’t on the leaked/supposed Pitchfork lineup I think Pavement is still likely to be playing this. They played those two shows at the Chicago Theatre last year but would be due to come back for a festival (or at least a bigger show) I assume. I also feel like they could be on the same day as Death Cab/Postal Service. They seem like they fit the mold of indie that would go over well at Riot. Legendary 90s band, recently reunited, a lot of attendees probably have nostalgia attached to them being 90s kids/teens/young adults.

I definitely see it. I think there’s a chance they could do some more fests this year too in the larger cities they played last year

    It’s here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PitchforkMusicFest/comments/10yx0as/rumored/

The title says “Rumored” but as someone who is in tune with Pitchforky acts every act seems extremely plausible this year, not to mention that The Smile and Big Thief are in the area during Pitchfork’s dates, someone else on the sub confirmed some of the same acts that were on this “rumored” lineup, and Nation of Language posted tour dates yesterday and accidentally shared a picture with Pitchfork listed on the 21st before taking it down. Also the times listed are in line with how Pitchfork set times go too.

If that lineup IS completely accurate, then the only “misses” for Riot IMHO are Soul Glo and maybe JPEGMAFIA and Illuminati Hotties.

I'd be annoyed if Chubby plays Pitchfork over Riot. I know they were supposed to play ptichfork last year but they also were supposed to play Riot in 2021

Really hope AFI announce more Sing The Sorrow shows after their show at The Foum this weekend. Seeing AFI at Riot would be dope, even more with such an iconic album

They've been saying this is the only show they're doing the album in full since this was announced (and they've repeated it multiple times since). It'd be a really weird look to announce more shows after the fact, knowing that so many people traveled, etc.

I'm 100% for it and hope that, even if it's not an album play, that they wind up playing. Haha. I just don't think that particular album play is in the cards.

dont remember if they have been brought up lately, but i think Murder by Death is possible.
-summer tour thats all western states
-4 dates so far in September (KY, TNx2, & MA), some of which they are playing Who Will Survive & What will be Left of Them? in full (20 year anniversary)
    - have said they will be announcing midwest/east cost dates 'in a month or so'

  11. Murder By Death would be really cool. I can see them closing out the Rebel Stage opposite a headliner, or maybe early on the main stages if it's an album play.

This is my annual request for Riot to book The Mountain Goats this year (and with two sold out Chicago shows in July, it wouldn’t detract from sales for those shows)

One year…I will manifest this into reality.

Militarie Gun would be a dope get for Riot (and White Reaper but I don’t know them as well) but the booker for Lolla posted this today so I think Lolla may have picked them up.

I wanted to do that White Reaper show originally but I cannot do a 3-band bill that starts at 9 lol

White Reaper opened the fest up a few years ago and was great. Cannot wait to see them and MG tonight

I'd be mad but that tour line-up is too good to be mad at for anything.

Babymetal announced for Blue ridge, and i cant imagine they are flying from japan for 1 show, so they could be possible

Possible but I doubt it. No idea who they are gonna tour with in the states but they are touring Europe with Sabaton, and Sabaton is definitely not playing Riot

Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra are in the states too the weekend of Riot, but they are 50/50 at best.

Two different levels, TBH. BabyMetal would be pretty late in the day on a bigger stage. Your average "rock festival person" knows who they are...

Compared to Tokyo Ska Paradise who is pretty niche. And likely wouldn't be worth Riot's $$$ to book early in the day. Apparently the cost of flying them over for SuperNova was almost prohibitive for them to play at that festival.

Counting Crows/Dashboard Confessional tour skips Chicago, FWIW.

Edit: Jk the tour hits Ravinia
