Those 2017 plans better include a Trio album !

 

Would make sense. I guess it's possible that he didn't feel comfortable giving solo interviews? I'd just love to hear him talk about the recording process and how he felt the tour went and what his plans are and the bands plans for the future.

 

I think tonight is the Conversation With Blink 182 at the Grammy Museum...I am so pissed at myself for not getting tickets to see this.

 

We need someone taking notes damnit!

Yes! If we don't get any information on that, I will send each person that attended a letter saying how disappointed I am in their lack of good questions, ha. But really, I want to know about the new EP, the supposed "Making of California" documentary rumors that have been going around, if the EP and that documentary will be tied to each other somehow, what Matt's Alkaline Trio plans are, etc.

I don't care about what song Matt likes to play the most, and shit like that. Haha, give me the juicy deets!

 

I'd write down all the details for you guys typically but that conversation is happening the one week I'm on the other side of the country :(

Yeah hopefully the people in attendance ask 'smart' questions and not ones like you stated or ones you know they'd never answer truthfully like anything to do with Tom etc.

 

It'll probably go like this:

"Will Tom ever come back?"
"You know, we really like Matt and what he's done with the band so far. Next question!"
"This question's for Tom... Have you ever received an anal probe from an alien?"
"My name is Matt, and yes. NEXT QUESTION!"

 

"How come when you sing I Miss You you say head instead of yead now?"

 

I want to know why they didnt push another single this summer. I'm sure we will get a bunch of boring questions about the tour aswell.

 

Bottom line is this:
There needs to be a Chorus AMA with Blink. We'd give them all the hard hitting questions like: "Why didn't you ever play 21 Days live?" and "Give us your detailed schedule for the next 5 years." Haha.

Hmmm, if I had one question to ask the band I honestly wouldn't know what I'd ask to be honest. Maybe if they would ever consider making another live album/DVD or a real documentary about the history of the band that doesn't pull any punches.

Haha yeah! Those docs were pretty interesting. I remember watching the Metallica one way too many times back in junior high.

Still want to know why the blinkumentary was never release, I know the band said they weren't happy with the finished product but really wish it would be leaked. I'm sure the actual doc is a bunch of BS about how the band is great and better than ever and how the 3 are even better friends now etc. but still would be interesting to see.

Man there were so many projects that blink hyped (like the 10 year anniversary live album/DVD of untitled) that never saw the light of day, it's a shame.

If I remember correctly they scrapped it in the fall of 2012, before they even recorded DED and before Tom reportedly quit the 2nd time which was in 2013ish I believe, so it's not like the fans would have saw right through it at the time. And even when they announced the delay of the film they said they were going to reshoot some of it and then release it. Maybe I'm just overthinking this after all anything the band did from 2009 to 2015 was strange.

 

I doubt Matt would be allowed to answer but it'd be cool if someone asked him what his plans are going forward.

 

I mean he's said in interviews that he'd start writing the Trio record when the blink tour was over, and we know they're planning a blink tour for Europe next year. With Trio probably being a bit active next year, and Travis probably finding time to do his other stuff, I doubt they even have any plans beyond that.

I mean, I think he'll stay in blink. I don't know why he would want to leave

Disclaimer: yes we all know what Tom's "legal team" has to say about the blink situation. Lol.

 

I believe Travis has said that the Antemasque album is completely finished and they just need time to free up so he can tour on it with them. I think the next Transplants album is finished too. I think I read it's a covers album? So that's kind of interesting. Anyway, Travis definitely has stuff in the pipeline.

I'd assume Matt will join Alkaline Trio early next year to start recording their next thing.

As for Mark, he'll probably just travel and be a dad until everyone is ready to start up Blink again.
