Yeah I need to rewatch district 9. I haven’t seen that in forever.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind is also a classic. Rewatch it anytime I see it replaying on tv.

  3. District 9 holds up remarkably well

  4. I think 2001 is a masterpiece, but it's definitely slow and abstract. It took me a while to finally build up to being in the mood for it.

I loved District 9 but haven't revisited it in forever. The lack of praise for any of Blomkamp's output after that made me question whether it would hold up on a rewatch.

You absolutely need to move Children of Men to the top of your watch list.

    And then Blade Runner 2049

  8. What are some other sci-fi horror? I don't think anyone's mentioned Prey in here yet

  9. I know Alien and Aliens are the obvious choices for the franchise, but I really like Prometheus and even enjoyed Alien Covenant. We just don't get big budget sci fi horror type movies like that these days, so I'm a sucker for it.

Did anyone watch Prospect? I never got around to it, but since we're at peak Pedro Pascal consumption right now, I was thinking of checking it out.

  12. Kinda burned myself out on sci-fi over the past few weeks lol but I still have The Abyss, Pacific Rim, and Dune to rewatch throughout the week. Wish Arrival was streaming somewhere

  14. Watched a little sci-fi thriller called Sea Fever on Hulu. Cool concept but overall it was just ok. I wanted to watch The Abyss as a follow-up, but it's apparently not streaming anywhere :-/

  15. Yeah, I had to buy a used copy from our local Exchange.

I've got about 20 minutes left of Edge of Tomorrow. Pretty fun

Yeah, The Abyss is notoriously hard to find. I think I have it on Plex, shoot me your email if you want an invite.

  19. Anyone know if I should do theatrical or director's cut for Abyss? Reddit seems to be saying director's cut

I def prefer Cameron's cut of Aliens

I think I’ve only seen the theatrical but I’d probably go director’s because of Cameron.

  25. Seeing 65 tonight. Reviews have been mixed but between Raimi producing, the directors of Haunt directing, and Adam Driving fighting dinosaurs with guns, I'm looking forward to a good time.
