I had never heard a FIR song until whatever that most recent single is. I legit thought they were a metalcore band all this time…was not expecting that cheesy rapping and stuff, is this like for Juggalos? I can’t fathom what that target audience is.

 

they used to be more metalcore, but they have made this weird transition to being all over the place, radio rock, that weird rapping thing etc. sadly they are probably way bigger right now then they have ever been.

 

It just reminds me of that South Park episode where everything Stan hears is shit because he's getting older.

 

I actually heard that Underoath were going to do a tour with The Ghost Inside in the summer, but not totally sure on the legitimacy of that

 

One of the things that keeps me constantly aware of how out of touch I am with modern "hard rock radio" is the massive popularity of MIW/INK/BMTH/FIR/PTV and other such bands that started almost as jokes in the niche of this "scene" and suddenly sell out arenas and headline massive events.

 

INK is the craziest one for me. Like those other bands were at least scene big at points, INK tried their hand in every fad and for so long were just the band that sold the Jason Tate t-shirts

 

If anything, I can respect the grind - they each definitely earned their spot on radio.

 

I've used Sirius XM the past couple of years and recently switched one of my presets to Octane and it blows my mind how those five bands are some of the main draws of their rotatin.

I am not even exaggerating when I say I have been squirreling away money into a second bank account for the last seven year since the last US tour so I can afford to follow this tour around for weeks

 

Y’know, thinking about it more, it might just be a normal tour. The Cure isn’t one of those “anniversary celebration-type” bands.

Or it could be a one-off fest like they did a few years back in LA (and I’m still incredibly bummed I missed)

 

Haven't the Cure been playing a bunch of new songs for an album due at any time? I can't imagine they would go back an do an anniversary tour while trying to promote that

Ticket fees are so hot at the moment that the LiveNation shed here caught fire last night.

 

Not enough to save it, but there's actually some decent adds in there, especially Friday

If I lived an hour from AC I'd consider going Friday, but the lineup just isn't there for the whole weekend for me, let alone for a flight and hotel too. Adjacent and Furnace Fest it is!

 

This sounds about right. Dirty Heads have a very hip hop-influenced sound, so I don’t think this is too weird
