Dream Warriors tho!

 

Nightmare would probably be second for me as well, even though I love the original. Some of the sequels have their charm, but that franchise never really lived up to what I hoped it would be, unfortunately. Easily my least favorite of the classic slashers.

 

As fun as the Nightmare movies are, the franchise probably lands closer to the bottom of the big horror franchises for me.

 

Final Destination would be my first cut (only thing I'd miss is looking at Devon Sawa), and Nightmare is easily my second.

 

Nooooooo

Although my second choice (behind Saw) would be Evil Dead which I know will make some people’s heads explode to see.

Friday the 13th is my favorite series, HOWEVER, I am in the firm opinion that there are more Saw movies that are better than the Friday films. Saw gets such a bad rap for the torture porn aspect, but the series is much more than that.

Watched Sick last night and loved it. What a fucking SLICKLY made slasher - wow. Some of those sequences were A+.

Fiancée and I got into a spat about the motive she was saying “people didn’t take Covid that seriously at the time” (movie takes place 4/3/20) and I showed her the now infamous clip of the Miami spring breakers who were showing complete ignorance to tv camera crews and that was in February 2020 before Florida eventually shut down every thing in March. People at home knew those kids were stupid for partying, which is why the family of villains were doing what they did. To me it held water, except that at-home tests were not available at that time haha

 

about fifty minutes into Mandy I still keep getting distracted and stopping and starting again. I'm sure things are about to get crazy, but I don't think I was mentally prepared for such a slow burn at the start; now that I know this, though, I might want to just start over, really eat up the visuals. I love when an entire scene is just flooded with a single color.

 

If you enjoy weed I’d suggest enjoying some before watching Mandy.
