Which, technically, is true. But ignores that Sanders was vocally critical of the crime bill, and voted for it because the assault weapons ban and anti-domestic violence portions were included to get the left wing of the Democratic party to vote for it. To me, it's punching down and left. Not to mention dumb from a strategic standpoint given what their aims with Bernie's supporters are.

I had no idea Bernie voted for the crime bill. Huh.

Yeah. And don't get me wrong, it sucks that he did. But even back then, he was critical of the points directly pertaining to criminal justice reform, while Bill and Hillary were meeting with Dr. Superpredator or w.e. that idiot eugenicist's name was.

really is just gonna be white dudes on one side and everyone else on the other.

  6. Yep. And Hillary is currently out performing what the models would have had a generic Democrat running in this race. But people will talk themselves into pretzels to not give her any credit for a very well run campaign so far.

  7. I don't buy this line of thinking or see it in the data. What state does she win with more enthusiastic young voters she isn't already winning? I'd argue this years election was always going to be close, and that's independent of who is a D or R. Second, Johnson's support is being cut every single day we get closer to the race.

Out of my curiosity: Do you support fracking? Do you support big money influencing our government? Did you think the Iraq was was justified? Do you support wasteful military spending? Because Clinton does.

  13. Yep. If I could snap my fingers and change one thing related to elections country wide right now, I think that would be in the running for what could inact the biggest change.

I think his lead would be outside of the MOE in a few states that with Hillary currently isn't the case, and that Bernie probably makes the race more competitive in a couple of other states she's currently either losing bad in (like Ohio and Iowa), or traditionally wouldn't have a chance in but is close because of Trump being Trump (i.e. Georgia). I know she beat Bernie in the south largely on the black vote, but those voters would have been there had Bernie been the nominee too.

I'd think this election was going to be close if it were Hillary vs. Anyone or Sanders vs. Anyone...only election I saw as >50% landslide was Sanders vs. Trump. This is of course without knowing how Bernie would have performed on the campaign trail/in debates vs. Trump. Bernie wasn't the strongest debater and sounded like a bit of a broken record on the trail in the primary.

  18. You listed things Clinton supports or supported. I know her positions on these topics and hundreds of others. I don't, nor have I ever, nor will I ever, agree with a candidate I vote for on every issue. Rarely most issues. I feel like I typed this just a page ago.

  24. There's quite a few assumptions here that I don't agree with at all. Ohio has been moving R over the past 4 years and was always going to be a tough get. I actually think it's still in play with the PA numbers and if the national average can creep back up around 5pts. That said, I don't think Bernie wins that state (or Iowa) either if he's in the race.

Again, this makes an assumption. If non-white, non-male voters moved even a couple percentage points, then there's a different map. And it undersells the large number of women supporting Clinton (especially white women). And then instead of millennials we're actually talking about a base problem. Currently the rust belt is where Bernie may have done a little better, assuming the "socialist" label doesn't stick once he comes up against an ops campaign.

Those projected polls with two candidates like that are never very good guides. Clinton was over a 10pt "favorite" in those polls a year ago.
