  3. Definitely curious about the turnout today. I'm also wondering how many people are going just to shout "Still Sanders!"

We know it from the silence

You're preaching to the choir on this one. Sanders was the perfect candidate for this election, and I truly believe he could have done great things for the country (plus he's an honest, straight-forward person). And The DNC didn't screw up by not being more supportive of him, they knew exactly what they were doing when they dragged him down. It was Clinton's turn, damnit.

Noone asked for this, but I'm about to put on my hottest hot take hat right now.

I always hear people say that Clinton is extremely lucky that she's facing such a terrible candidate because it's the only way she, her increasingly unpopular self, could ever win. But I sometimes I think that idea is way too simplistic. I honestly think that if Trump never entered this race, her favorability ratings would be a lot higher than they are (#scorching).

I think that Trump has made the race such an incredibly toxic and vitriolic spectacle, dating back to the beginning of the GOP primary, that so much of the general public is just defaulting to a "fuck it all" mindset, which obviously includes in Hillary. Look, I understand that the people in a thread like this, myself included, were going to hate Hillary regardless, but I'm speaking here about the general public, which is different I'm not totally convinced that all of her many misdeeds are that much worse than past candidate and are appropriately translating to the favorability you'd expect among the general public.

If Trump never enters this race then I think things tonally feel a lot more like 2008/2012 (which obviously wasn't roses, but still significantly less stink than 2016), especially if the front runners are just guys in the establishment Mitt/McCain/Kasich/Bush camp. And then I think that there's a whole lot less people who say they hate Hilary just because they hate the whole election, or just because they want to qualify their Trump hatred. And the Democrats still would have been favored in such a hypothetical.

So now, Clinton enters a presidency (knock on wood) doomed to never have public support and preside over a bitter, divided country... when she probably would have won without Trump in the race anyway. (Not the I feel bad for her personally). So, lukcy? Idk.

  6. I don't know. Many many people have disliked Hillary for a very long time. I think you're bringing up some interesting points and there's some validity there but I also think that Warren would have had more broad support if she was running.

I mean, Hillary is an objectively terrible candidate. I don't think that can be underestimated in terms of her unfavorability. But, there's also the terrible policies she has supported, which, in this particular election, have come to fore due to institutional problems manifesting on a broader scale.

Yeah I think " lots of people are critical of Hillary Clinton, many for good reason" is different than everyone hates her and she has no supporters

I also am not sure that Bernie would trounce Trump or as you say Rubio would trounce Hillary

I'll be honest, I actually have hatred in my heart for Hillary.

Objectively terrible to you, and me, and many here, sure. But I think you're giving the general public way too much credit on their awareness or hypothetical opinions of her policies.

I don't even mean in terms of policy. I just mean, as a candidate that is campaigning, she has been terrible.

Yeah as a politician campaigning she is weak AF. Never was her strong suit.

Very disappointed in the college students behind the CNN pundits not shouting 'hold the door!' Or 'the king in the north!' yet.

Sucks that Bill is still hitting Bernie today, esp. since the Clinton campaign is trying reeeaallly hard to attract his supporters.

Eh, this seems to be picking endpoints. Over a longer span, it seems her favorability drops whenever she is running for office/doing other things that make her more salient in the nation' conscious. This doesn't really disprove your point as it hasn't ever been this bad for her though. But regardless, it's interesting how Clinton's unfavorables have continued to rise despite all the talk during the primaries about how Clinton has already been vetted and she had hit her floor.

A member of European Parliament for UKIP is accusing Teresa May of lifting policies out of there 2015 general election manifesto.

So that's what we've let ourselves in for.

How long before the 'Make Britain Great Again' hats show up.
