I do kinda hope they get a uni refresh soon and it woulda been cool for them to do it to commemorate their 25th season

 

They might do it this year because they are doing a series of inductions for their inaugural team hall of fame and he’s one that they are having a ceremony for this year.

I understand why they chose him for the first year of doing this but thought there might be a bit of a cloud over the whole thing due to the things that have come out not too long ago about Crawford.

ok, so. this is actually a pretty reasonable top 10 if we're basing it off of 80% 2022 performance 20% career performance and nothing else. still think Soto and Acuña are top 10 players even with that caveat but I also don't know which two of these guys I'd cut for them

 

the angels have two of MLBs top 3 players and wont win 75 games this season

i'm bouncing goldy for one of soto and acuna and then putting freddie at 11 or 12

 

not if it's 80% based on 2022 performance you're not brother

which is a dumb dumb dumb way to do one of these lists but their chief operating principle for this list seems to have been "hey let's just let recency bias run amok!!!!"

I actually think that's pretty right. Freeman could be bumped but he had a way better year than I realized, Soto or Tatis can definitely bump him out this year

Can't argue Judge at 2 with the best clean offensive year since Yaz but Shohei should still be 1

It would be surprising if Trout doesn't miss a month at this point unfortunately

 

Goldy and Nolan obv.

 

Shhh you need Goldy to prop up the fantasy world in which your team let the second best 1B in the sport walk instead of the best

 

Whichever of Judge and Trout plays more games this season is the clear #2 probably. Although Manny is quietly making a case too and at worst is top-5. He’s just kinda a high year to year variability guy a la Bryce (although not as volatile and way more baseline defensive value)

7.4 fWAR for manny last year and 2023 is a walk year for him I think. Could be a monster season.

 

Bryce also probably gonna strictly DH this season when he can swing a bat again

 

ANYWAY spring training games start TODAY so we are officially officially out of off-season mode
