I'm amazed this combination hasn't happened before.

The Offspring's profile in the US is so weird. They struggle to fill like 1-2k capacity places yet in Europe they can still play arenas with support. Odd look for a band that has sold 20 million + records

I'd definitely go. Especially if it was an Americana 25th anniversary tour.

  6. not if 19.6 million of those were sold in Europe... ha

At least 14 million were in the US but I think because they spent the 90's/00's playing radio festivals here and other festivals abroad, they don't really have a proper fanbase coupled with the fact that they aren't particularly active on social media.

Dexter Holland couldn't hit a lot of those notes in 1999, no way I want to see him try in 2023.

  9. yeah, i've only seen them once, and it was at a radio festival show at our amphitheater with Death Cab and Awolnation in 2016.

surprised they don't do US runs with like... Rancid, Pennywise, or Unwritten Law or any other bands in that realm

I mean they distanced themselves from those bands what? 24-25 years ago at that point. They have been strictly a radio hits type band since 99 at this point.

They already do and he still struggles. Gone Away sounds almost unrecognizable played 1/2 step lower.

  13. I wouldn't know, I guess, haha. I only know their stuff from Americana and Smash.

I’ve never had any issues with how The Offspring sound live. Always a fun time.

  15. If Dexter can't hit the "uh huh! uh huh!" notes on "Pretty Fly for a White Guy" then what's even the point in seeing them in 2023?!?

    Things have changed.

Saw the Offspring last summer and they were totally fine and fun. It was a one and done for me, but enjoyable enough.

opener I assume means that it'll just be the two albums and no additional set which I (probably in the minority) is slightly bummed about since I missed Death Cab's show in Queens last year and really like their latest.

Hell ya, killer support for the death cab tour. Im so excited for that show

  20. A second leg was added. Snagged tickets to Columbus.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Yeah it seemed like there was a time that they could easily do amps/arenas on their own. But now they can only really do it with a solid co-headliner. Or if it’s an OC hometown show

There was a point where I considered them equal popularity to Blink, but those days are long gone now.

(And I guess I’ll add to the discourse. I saw them in 2014 for the SMASH 20-year tour, and on that weird acoustic tour they did in 2019. Both shows were great times. I’d see then again definitely)

I watched like 6 minutes of The Offspring at Warped AC & it was very very not good, sadly

Offspring probably make enough money doing festivals and state fairs

They sold their publishing for $30 million a while back too
