It’s not Parks’s fault, but the show’s Obama-era neoliberal fantasyland vision of politics has also aged poorly.

I hated Tom and Andy so it makes no difference

This is why I couldn't make it through more than a few episodes of The West Wing. It is Clinton instead of Obama, but it has that same sort of misplaced belief in the system.

    Still great shows. Sorry.

I'm gonna be real with you all:

All shows suck. Each and every one.

I love Parks to death, but this is the most damning argument I’ve ever heard against it for sure. It’s fine because the jokes are there and characters are great, but this is a part of the show that has only become more distracting with the progression of real world politics

  9. Also New Girl kicks the absolute snot out of all of these shows, let’s talk about jokes per capita

I rather have it be that than you know, the other side of the coin

    New Girl is incredibly overrated

    It's fine.

30 Rock is probably the most inconsistent of any of these shows for me. Loved a lot of it but it also had a lot of stuff that didn't work for me at all. It's probably been over a decade since I've watched it though.

God, I'm old. A decade goes by so quickly.

There's a new Frasier show coming out and the last one ended in 2004.

I think as a whole body of work 30 Rock probably is the best out of all those

Though that might be my opinion because it somehow combines a weirdly hight amount of things I like thematically. Like, if you the like the entertainment business, Hip Hop, divas, (The) Tracy Morgan (Show), LRG and went to business school, then this show is tailor made for you.

It was my favorite show in high school but I couldn't finish more than a few episodes on rewatch.

  18. 30 rock is goated, best jokes per minute ratio that ever was or will be on tv

New Girl was so good until it fell off of a cliff when Nick and Jess got together.

New Girl I thought was pretty great until the last season, which I thought was a little off

Yeah the last season isn’t great but it’s super short so it’s whatever

I loved the two of them together and are pissed they stayed broken up for so long

The final season was a little weak, but still has it's moments. Plus Ruth was hilarious.

Parks is the best of those shows comfortably. God forbid a comedy TV show be aspirational rather than punishingly realistic. Clearly they should have had Amy Poehler trying to do The Wire.

Tom as Stringer, Ann as Kima, Ron as Daniels...we got something going here.
