I honestly don't really know anything about Yungblud beyond him working with some problematic artists so I've generally avoided him.

I can definitely see how there might be some accountability discussions behind what he said, but I feel like we should almost have a separate thread for dumbass and/or insensitive things Matty Healy says at this point.

Yungblud is annoying but I didn't know he paid tribute to Brianna Ghey. That's a good thing.

I don't listen to Cumtown/TAFS because the ironic racism schtick isn't for me, but if you want to discuss something Matty said on the show, so be it. Otherwise, this is the weirdest, no-stakes British beef ever and doesn't belong in this thread lol

Because maybe I'm just being too sensitive but him talking about Ice Spice's background and impersonating the accents of those different backgrounds is definitely something that we should hold artists accountable for.

 

Aaron said that "if you want to discuss something Matty said on the show, so be it", so I'm not sure what you mean here. If you have issues with things he's said, by all means you can post about them. People are just saying that the main topic of your post, a petty beef with Yungblud, is not an accountability issue and not relevant to this thread.

 

I don't think the point of their post was Matt having beef with Yungblud so much as the beef happening because Yungblud called Matt out for what he said on the show, and then Matt proceeded to double down and mock Yungblud.

 

I missed the first part about discussing the comments so that’s my bad, but ya the post was regarding the comments not the silly Yungblud beef.
