This continues to grow on me, even the songs I cared less for. Not my favorite closer, but the guitars and vocals are so fun even if not as in-your-face catchy and quirky as AL.

I don't know what a Paramore even is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

Running out of Time is so great. I love that Kimmel performance and the music vid is rad.

I also LOVE that the track after a song about being perpetually late to things translates to "It is What It Is." Just like...yeah, whatever. It's actually so satisfying. Haha

This hasn’t really grown on me like I thought. It’s good, no doubt, but I don’t think it touches Riot!, BNE, and AL.

And I’ve listened every day. I’m not writing it off, just expected to be more into this by now, that’s all.

And I’m merely saying it’s been a week and to expect a strong change in that timeframe is a little odd. Give it time. Maybe months. Maybe years. That’s all.

I think music can be for different seasons of life for some people. I’ve recently gone through some older albums that I didn’t vibe with at first and now appreciate and like a lot. It’s not a knock on the music or the listener. We all change over time. But not much is gonna change in a week. It’s okay if someone isn’t vibing with this album right now. Maybe it will later. Maybe not. Unlike Hayley, we aren’t running out of time to listen to this album. If it’s not working for someone, don’t force yourself to listen to it. Set it down for a while, go live life, and pick it up down the road if you want to. That makes sense to me.

I don't disagree, I was just being silly.

I’m liking this a lot more after just taking The News off. Running Out of Time flows great as a track 2 and is one of the best songs here.

Idk where this album will land after some time passes, but it is not impossible this becomes my favorite paramore album.

Album debuted at #3 with 55k album equivalents.
Honestly thought it was gonna do almost double that.

It’s the nostalgia factor that’s making them relevant right now, not necessarily the music, even though it’s really good.

Have any of the emo nostalgia acts turned the touring success into chart success yet?

I'd ask in what world #3 isn't the definition of "chart success?"

I remember this same conversation around After Laughter, and now Hard Times is like their third most streamed song.

It’s clearly success, but is it not fair to say this underpreformed?

It sold less than After Laughter, but charted higher. AF did 12k more or so and was #6.

I honestly thought this would sell way better, at least what MGK did. Still did well just thought it’d be bigger with all the demand behind their tour.

  25. Underperformed ... what? Your subjective expectations?

I can't think of a single objective number I'd say underperformed.

First #1 UK album in a decade. #3 in the US. #1 on iTunes, top 10 in Apple Music.

I can not think of a single metric that anyone in the music industry uses to define success that would be in the realm of "underperforming."
