ive become good friends with many people in this very thread because of twitter.

but i also met @EngineDown through twitter so idk has its ups and downs i guess

 

Haha yeah. If I'm feeling crazy, I'll plug my bigger computer monitor into my laptop, but for the most part, that's how I rock everything at home. I really don't have too much time to watch a lot of TV, movies, play video games, or anything like that, so I don't really care about the size of the screen. But since my laptop is kinda old, the screen is actually a fairly decent size.

 

Fred Durst told me he liked my old band on Twitter, so I guess there's some good to it after all, haha.

Regarding Kinsella I dont know much about him other than I like American Football but that tweet is awful and the attempted apology is really bad as well.

 

not that it was the only factor but if not for twitter (as well as other things contributing obvi), i'd probably still be living in the midwest within a 15 mile radius of the place i was born. i live about 1000 miles away now and have made two major moves. ty twitter

 

where did he attempt to apologize i must have missed that

 

how'd twitter help you do that? like, you just met people looking for roommates? or did you find jobs through twitter? i'm genuinely curious.

 

i think he's referring to Mike saying something along the lines of: "if you cancelled your pre-order because of my joke, send me a screenshot and i will donate the amount of money you paid to this childrens charity."

 

the whole "celebrities aren't important this is what's really important" narrative is so tired

he said sorry in there once and it was regarding people """"misinterpretting""" him. i was mainly being facetious with matt. that on it's face alone can't be defined as an apology

 

well, that's pretty cool! nice job! maybe i need more of a social media presence and get with the times. i could always use a better job in a better location!

evan weiss made a post on his own personal facebook about it (basically saying nobody deserved to be robbed with a gun depending on social status). big deal since i know he's very good friends with mike and has looked up to him for a very long time

 

Yeah Evan seems like a decent dude despite being similarly cranky old emo dude about other things

 

Mike just made a better (and actual) apology on twitter.

its like he doesnt get whats so problematic about what he said.

which isnt really that shocking considering cranky white emo dude and all.

 

he literally could have just left it at "I'm truly sorry I made light of a serious situation" and that would've been whatever, but the fact he felt the need to add "I'm not a misogynist (ask anyone who knows me.)" and "my Twitter audience is no longer just my friends who understand my intentions" makes it clear that he doesn't understand what was wrong with the original tweet..

 

It's definitely horrible that he said that about a woman but honestly he's acting like it wouldn't be so bad if it was a man which no it would be fucked up to cheer on something like that happening to anyone who didn't deserve it

 

I'm sure he added the "misogynist" bit because that's probably all he's been reading today from responses to his twitter account. He probably felt that was necessary to include in his apology because of that.

Either way, I'm glad he apologized and realizes he needs to be careful with what he says. Hopefully he will be better at that going forward.

 

yeah that apology did not sit right at all with me. he's basically saying that he still feels that what he said was fine, but that his twitter audience didn't "get" it. stupid.

edit: i'm also not a fan of this band, or his, so it's very easy for me to be ultra critical of him. understand it sucks when your faves do shit like this.
