NPR links autoformat to media, at least on my phone, and whatever it is doesn't work

 

I still cant paste any text on the site thats copied from my phone. Guess its a problem with my phone. But I havent had the issue anywhere else. It gives me a message something "this HTML class. Value is...."

 

weird - i can't paste into the comment box from the main page, the option just doesn't come up, but if I go to more options and enter something into the text box THEN I can. which is ultimately i think just a question of how Android does long holds and not something jason can fix

 

I figure it might be a wonky android thing. Im just puzzled because Ive never had the issue before anywhere else including AP.

 

Yeah, they're supposed to be fixing this and moving to HTTPS in the near future, but they haven't yet.

 

What version of Android? There's so many of them, but the testing device I have doesn't have a problem with it ...

 

5.1.1 currently which is prob a little old. I'll update tonight to see what happens

 

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm just aggressively stupid, but colouring text doesn't seem to be working properly.

E.g. when I do [color=#x]this[/color=#x], all the text after the first tag gets coloured and the 2nd gets weirdly disregarded and itself shows up. For example, <-first tag is here, and the closing tag, as you can see, is here-> but yet it's all still red.

So, am I dumb, or is this website horribly, irredeemably broken?[/COLOR]

For the last week or so every time I try to post a gif it fails to post. Example:



I am of course making all of my posts on mobile

And Henry pointed out that if you quote the post you can see the gif, but for some reason it's just not showing up in the post

 

I think the place you're sharing it from is blocking my proxy.

 

You don't need the number on the closing tag.

[/color] is all you need.

 

There were a couple I tried to post yesterday that didn't work either. I'll try another one

That got auto generated from a facebook link, which is pretty cool and I didn't realize was a feature, but the text isn't legible on the dark theme.

@Jason Tate, this might not be a bug, but I've noticed when typing on my iPhone, if the text I'm typing fills up the screen and starts to go below the keyboard, the page won't automatically scroll, so I'm typing without seeing the text that's going on the screen unless I manually pull the page down. I'm also relatively new to having an iPhone, so that could be part of it.

 

@Jason Tate are you seeing anything strange with auto membership charges($5) each month? Right now it says I'm not a supporter but I have it come out each month automatically via PayPal. I think something is pending now just not posted yet in my account for the $5. I can get more info and detail later if you need it.

 

Let me take a look. Sometimes PayPal is really weird.

Nice. Thanks for looking at that, sir. Strangly though I still had dark mode, but I was seeing ads in the forum and thought it was odd, haha.

 

This probably isn't a bug and may just be the way it's intended, but I noticed from the front news page, if you click on the dialogue box that brings you to the forums on an article, go back from the same browser, and then click on the dialogue box on a new article, it will still bring you to the forums for the previous article, and not the new one. The only way to get to the new one is to refresh the page and click on the dialogue box from the new article there. Not a big deal, was just curious!

 

That's a browser bug in the new Safari it looks like.

 

Ah cool. Hadn't checked it out with Safari at the time, but tried it on my work PC with Chrome, and my Mac with Chrome as well.
