yeah I hate when people shame other concertgoers for not dancing enough for them, I also am very chill and just want to sit when I listen to music so I'm biased haha

I mean, I kinda get it? And maybe it was framed differently by Maggie compared to how the Tweeter described it... But there's a more eloquent, creative way to get the crowd engaged. Don't just complain. Take action. Propose something: "Okay, for this next song, do this!"

But yeah, I'm in the "just chill and bob my head" category. Which, I dunno, isn't that Maggie Rogers' whole vibe anyway? LOL

With this All Time Low b market tour, I wonder if they are direct support or co headlining with Weezer in the big markets this summer

Decided I wanted to sell off my Blink-182 tickets. Ticketmaster apparently has a minimum price set. So I'm not able to charge what I want and it needs to be above a certain price point.

Tell me again how they aren't influencing supply/demand again? LOL This is exhibit fucking A.

This has been a thing with them in the sports world for a long time, and they've finally let it creep into concerts, too. For years, season ticket holders complained that they couldn't just list their tickets on Ticketmaster if they couldn't attend, and instead had to go through a third party site like StubHub or the like. Eventually, TM reached a deal with pretty much all leagues and franchises to open up a Ticketmaster resale portal.

The problem? Ticketmaster charges way more for single game tickets than the box office does for season ticket holders. They don't want resale tickets being cheaper than their advertised face, so they impose a minimum price that matches what they list for. They won't sell, because there's third party site competition selling below face. Ticket holders then still use the third party site anyway because they can actually list them for fair prices. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks for explaining this a bit more! For me, it's literally just... Easier. I'm just gonna let it ride for now even though I'm participating in a system that I hate because I don't have the time to do it third-party right now.

But all of this talk about "supply and demand" and bullshit... Nah. It's all Ticketmaster.

I wish there was a better way to identify legitimacy for buying/selling tickets directly consumer to consumer (Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc.)

Even using StubHub or whatever instead of TM sucks because there are fees on both ends so if you have a $100 ticket, you might only get $80 for it and the buyer might have to pay $120

I don't know your exact scenario but I usually recommending hitting up bands subreddits if I'm selling tickets. Better way to get in the hands of an actual fan if you're intending to just sell at the face value (whatever that is). I understand it's a heavier lift in that you have to message back and forth but in the spirit of fan-to-fan ticketing, I like it a lot.

Yeah I experienced that a few times and it's super irritating. That's one thing I like a lot about AXS in that you can list below face (and it's also how I've gotten into shows cheaper than advertised).

Whenever I win tickets to something I can’t attend/don’t want to attend, I always use stubhub. The fees of course suck, but otherwise it’s been a smooth experience for me

Fun StubHub saga from the last few months for myself:

Sold a ticket day of show for Turnstile a few months back because we couldn't make it. Transferred the tickets via LiveNation once they sold, the person never accepted the ticket, and the order was cancelled by StubHub for me "not fulfilling the order."

Ended up selling just via LiveNation which was great (since StubHub cancelled my order and I technically still had the ticket in my name), but fast forward two months later and StubHub CHARGED MY CARD for the price of the ticket that I "did not fulfill."

Called StubHub customer support, who promised me up and down the charge would be reversed in 30 days. Ended up having to file a dispute with my credit card company who thankfully got the money back, but what a nightmare.

i always feel so anxious when people don’t accept my ticket right away because I’m scared of this exact scenario. Like how’s it my fault they never collected the ticket?

Maggie said something along the lines of “Ok c’mon, I know there are seats and it’s a Wednesday. I think it’s a Wednesday. I know it’s a weekday. But let’s start this one over and see some more energy.” It was for Be Cool.

As for the original tweeter, the girls in the 2nd Mez were mostly standing. dancing, and singing throughout.

years ago, a buddy and I were seeing Machine Head and Robb Flynn said "move you motherfucker" while generally glancing in our direction and my stupid friend thought he was being singled out and to this day HATES Robb Flynn because of it

he says "fuck that guy. if he made better music, I'd move."

which I can't disagree with, especially in regards to current day Machine Head.

Okay. So Maggie Rogers is just polite about being an entitled dork. And the original Twitter still has "I'm a real fan and the people up-front aren't" energy.
