It's probably one of the best metrics you can use to grow the brand, but not for ticket sales.

Using Spotify data does have its' flaws. For example, listeners actively seeking an artist's song vs only hearing it because its' on a playlist. Also, Spotify users skew 34 and under, but the majority of concert goers are between the ages of 35-54. So you could get an idea of how many younger people are going to certain shows, maybe?

    What a ramble.

I had Blink/Weezer/TBS/Asher Roth but maybe it was because it was their San Diego date

I saw that Blink tour twice, once with TBS/Weezer up in Hartford, CT and then back in the city with Fall Out Boy and Asher Roth who unfortunately replaced All-American Rejects. There was a third variation of that lineup I could have gone to out at Jones Beach with both Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco opening.

again, I’m not talking about the listeners. The followers is the metric that is actually interesting in relation to ticket sales because those are the people who might actually care about the band and aren’t just casual listeners.

dividing the followers by listeners show you a metric that shows how many people actually care to know what a band or artist is doing as compared to their casual listeners

In defense of the Spotify stuff, I don’t think those numbers are a 1 to 1 thing, but I do see them as an indicator of how dedicated the fan base of the band is thus leading to how well they could sell our show

I feel like Nate silver right now haha

I don't know if 2017 counts as recent but they were still great then. The production is always incredible and Dave Gahan is quite the frontman.

The Maine is an interesting example too. They've really been the best-in-class model of "we don't need to get that much bigger, let's just have an immensely passionate fanbase that we can play 500-1000 cap rooms in every city forever, & we'll also do a hometown festival that 5-10% of the fanbase will travel for every year because it's different every time & worth it"

This has been noticeable for awhile, specifically at arena/stadium shows. The expensive seats usually have a more older crowd thus, on average they’ll probably be less energetic than someone younger who can only afford an upper deck seat.

To be fair, Radio City sucks the energy out of any show be it a $15 ticket or $1500 ticket

Everything about that tweet makes me cringe. The situation with Ticketmaster is definitely unfair, but the implication that the people up-front are lesser fans or whatever and the entitled attitude of the tweeter...

And stopping mid-song to complain about crowd energy sure is a look. LOL
