That’s a big oof and this could have changed the fight in a big way. I’d assume Islam struggles more with his cardio if he doesn’t get the IV and the fight was incredibly close.

It’s a huge advantage for somebody who clearly is oversized for the division he fights in. The IV ruling was created literally to deter exactly this type of situation. And it makes me think he would suffer at 170 with somebody like Usman, Burns, or even (and I hate to say it) Covington fighting the way he does.

 

Also I like Dober and think he derails the hype train with Paddy 100%. But knowing that a finish win over Paddy could have him fighting stupid.
