Didn't they already publicly say they were closing the MMOG chapter (or something like that).

It'd be weird to now release the b-sides/leftovers from that album and then promote/tour off it after saying that.

Also, the band has very clearly been writing/recording and Andy posted not too long ago that he just had the most creatively fulfilling week of his life after what they had been working on. To me, that would indicate new stuff and not re-working on b-sides/leftovers.

 

I believe they are recording for the next LP right now. Given how long it takes to record, produce, master, etc. These songs that they are only just demoing now will absolutely not be ready by summer. If you recall they demoed Bed Head in a cabin a few years before it was ever eventually released.

Anything they release this year will be things that they recorded at least a year or so ago.

 

So...they aren't closing the MMOG chapter?

 

But when is Horizons/West coming out? /s

 

The “Million Masks of God” chapter is closed. “The MO 2.0/Black Mile and Masks and whatever trilogy” or however they decide to call it is not over. Black Mile came to a close with that live album video that had the masks teasers. The next music released will be similar to Black Mile and Masks, but it won’t be those exactly. The new music won’t be labeled as “million masks b sides” they will just be songs over the last few years that didn’t fit on either album. Is my best estimation.

 

You mentioned an email from their management, was that like a press release/was it public? Curious what’s next for the band and I’ll take anything I can get from them!
