i'm reading allegations from 3 years ago saying the bane singer had sex with an underage girl and has a domestic abuse charge against him

All circumstantial stuff here, but the dude was definitely a creep well into his 30s-40s (dude's 54 now) - c/o to nu-b9board in the Bane show announcement thread there for this:

Took and posted a photo on Instagram of a random girl from behind with a creepy caption 10 years ago (that he still hasn't deleted - link to creepshot here TW, I ain't embedding it):

There's his creepy obsession with Lolita that came out in a Bridge 9 interview a long time ago to the point where Lolita is the "#1 quality that he looks for in a girl":

Then he was arrested for assault and battery back in 2009 at the ripe age of 40 - anecdotal evidence there suggests it was on his then gf (age unknown):

Police: This week in Somerville arrests - Somerville, Massachusetts 02144 - Somerville Journal

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolita

"The novel is notable for its controversial subject: the protagonist and unreliable narrator, a middle-aged literature professor under the pseudonym Humbert Humbert, is obsessed with a 12-year-old girl, Dolores Haze, whom he kidnaps and sexually abuses after becoming her stepfather. "Lolita", the Spanish nickname for Dolores, is what he calls her privately."

No. He just said that his ideal woman would be something along the lines of what's portrayed in the story of Lolita. I imagine based on the tone of the rest of the interview in the attached image that it's a joke, but given the other circumstantial evidence it bares presenting. At a minimum, it's a tasteless statement.

Now do not consider this an endorsement of him. The dude is at best a creepy dude who's been good dude in a legendary band, backed hard for his entire career, but to misconstrue information like that based on what is probably intended as a joke just doesn't sit well.

  12. I don't really know anything about Halsey but I got her newest album on vinyl on sale at Target a few months back and I kinda like it so I looked her up and aside from kissing minors a while ago it seems like she gets canceled for the dumbest shit (or saying some admittedly dumb shit that kinda seems trivial relatively) but then I come in here and find she sampled BN in her previous album so I guess I'm not getting that one but honestly in the like five minutes of research I did it seems like she's mostly a positive force in the industry so idk maybe I'll continue to listen to this album and maybe look into her other ones that don't sample a shitty person's song?

Imo, her latest album is her best. But you can skip over Manic and be good. She’s not my favorite, but she has some good stuff and does seem to be a pretty positive person.

it's a sample of a drumbeat from a demo, i.e. nothing performed by him, don't worry about it

Admittedly never listened before, but is the whole premise of the show just saying gross shit ironically? Don't know if it was Matty himself, but the comments made about the Scots language personally stung (and they were pretty tame compared to everything else that was said.)

sorry, that wasn't the intent, and i now see how the i.e. came off as such. admittedly was being quick to deter discarding a good song on what i feel is such a minor association.

I was a little nervous at that point in the show that Kanye was going to come out as guest (not knowing until later that she was performing the entire set solo). That said I think it’s fine for her to do her chorus of one of her biggest hits in a medley without referring to him.
