At least the balloon was over in a few days instead of the few years it took people to shut up about “Havana Syndrome”.

 

Figures as much. But also shows just how nonsensical this whole thing is. Like Trump probably actually did the right thing staying quiet and not shooting it down.

But you know if like, if the public got wind of it you would've seen the same thing play out: Dems start pearl clutching that Trump is bad at national security. Only real difference is I'm not sure it would've ended the same -- I could both see Trump shooting it down right after it becomes public regardless of the damage that would cause. I could also see him just not ever giving in and simply letting it go because he wouldn't want to give in to the Dems demands and look weak.
