I love Rented World, but agree it doesn’t measure up to OTIP or ATIP.

ATP is my fav front to back. When Greg’s Americana thing was strongest IMO

don’t like any Tom songs. His voice just doesn’t do it for me.
His stage presence is too pop punk. which I know is a dumb take, but I just can’t hang with that much happy bouncing.

Hello Exile is boring trash, everything else is varying degrees of great.

 

I understand someone not liking it but boring trash? Lol

You get a like for being like my id about certain albums that aren't in the Menzingers discography. Respect knux.

 

Rented World is my fave cause it's the bleakest lol

 

Rented World is my favorite album as a whole by far.

 

Rented World was my favorite until Hello Exile. Rented World still has my favorite Menzingers songs though.

 

They should play Where Your Heartache Exists still.

 

Rented world is solid at #2 for me. ATP is king however.

 

Rented World reminds me of Rise Against's Siren Song of the Counter Culture. Some very strong songwriting, but it's let down by a combination of the production/mixing not really gelling with the band and the band themselves being in a transition to the much stronger next record. But very much a "cult classic" with the fanbase. (It even produced possibly their biggest hit in Asshole)

To be fair I'm not entirely sure when they would have written a new album except on tour. And a merch drop would be good cover for them to go lock themselves up for a month and write a new album. /copium
