This is the dumbest winter ever. Finally got a little bit of snow for the first time this season last night, gonna get down to 10 degrees Friday night, and then next week back into the 50s.

Give me just one week of prolonged cold with a big snow storm and I’ll be happy

Sounds like Colorado most winters except for this year. We've had snow on the ground the entire month of January which isn't common, it'll usually melt, and it's been like 10-15 degrees colder on average for the month.

Day 3 of covid: taste is pretty much gone. It’s not totally absent, I can still taste vague broad tastes like “sweet” but it’s not specific like “chocolate”. Didn’t sleep well at all last night, but do think that’s in part to my basically sleeping 9 hours and being in bed for 12 the night before. Started paxlovid this morning.

worse news, wife and 3 year old both tested positive on their pcrs. Sucks and I’m super nervous and worried for them.

 

I'm reaching a point where things are getting so ridiculous and horrifying politically that I've found myself becoming a more cynical and negative individual. My thinking patterns are now consumed with negativity and I hate it. I think I need to step away from politics for a while for the sake of preserving the good parts of me. And of course in doing that I feel immense guilt for not keeping up with everything. Sigh. If anyone's been in this position and has improved/found ways to cope, please let me know.
