I dunno, the American way is more about beatdowns. Feels kind of false.

No opinion on the shows because I don’t watch superhero television (except that emphasizing the cop aspect of the Lanterns isn’t my favorite thing most of the time).

Superman: Legacy will probably be great. Very curious how it goes with Gunn actively at the helm, since that’s not the tone he usually goes for. Hopefully he’s able to get the red trunks on him!

The Authority in the 2020s is a wild choice, especially as the… second film in this world? Especially in a world where the MCU was so inspired by The Ultimates, lol. Could be pretty interesting in the right hands, though.

The Brave and the Bold giving us a Robin is great, even if that gets in the way of the Robin arc I want in the Reeves series. Hopefully we get some Dick Grayson Batman there eventually.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is a wild choice, given how recent that comic was. But, two Super-family projects early on is great, and the cosmic stuff could be really fun. Those cowards should just bring in Melissa Benoist for that one, tbh.

Swamp Thing could be very cool if done right. Let Abby have sex with a plant!

    In Gunn We Trust

Hyped for the 2 Batman movies, The Authority and of course BOOSTER GOLD. Gunn comparing The Lanterns as True Detective and Paradise Lost as GoT is super hype. Oh yeah and Swamp Thing is gonna be dope.

I'm hyped for sure, trying not to get overboard, but I'm glad there is at least a plan ahead.

  7. There’s more context but apparently it was incredibly fucking bad. He even says something along the lines of it being released would’ve hurt every actor involved.

The more I hear about Batgirl supposedly being awful the more interested I am in seeing it

With the Swamp Thing announcement I hope we're one step closer to getting a Justice League Dark adaption at some point

Batgirl is absolutely one of those things that, one day, many years from now, will be mysteriously leaked onto the internet anonymously.

Didn't they have to show proof that all remnants(files and whatnot) of the project were deleted in order to receive the tax write-off or whatever?

I still don’t believe it though lol.

Isn't Batgirl the one where the people showed up one day and just all their shit was deleted or like they couldn't even log in or something

Yep. They removed it from the server so that the filmmakers couldn’t even access it while they were away (announcement happened during one of their weddings if I remember correctly).

I’m in on about half of the announcements and am more confused than anything else by the others. Superman, Batman, Supergirl, and I’m guessing WW in the show make sense. Swamp and Booster and fun wild card choices, but the Authority seems to want to play to The Boys fans and it’s weird they’re keeping Gunn’s SS stuff intact. Lanterns should get me excited, but scares me based on the description.

Sounds like the show takes place before Diana’s “birth.”

(On that note, I hope whatever version they have going forward ditches that New 52 origin and reestablishes the clay.)

I hope that’s not the case, but if she were going to be in it, they’d probably have said so. It’s strange that they won’t have one of the Trinity in the first wave.

There was a brief period of time where Arrowverse was legitimately great. Season 2 of Arrow forever

In regards to Batgirl, I don’t understand how there isn’t anyone in the PR or marketing department telling them to move away from using the “protecting” verbiage while still releasing The Flash

WW can still appear in the first wave. Gunn said there is still more to be announced for Chapter 1: Gods & Monsters

This “‘Game of Thrones’-ish story,” Safran said, is set on the island of Themyscira before the birth of Diana (a.k.a. Wonder Woman).

I'm guessing it's kind of their way to jump right back into Themyscira and build some stuff to play with later, while also taking a breather before committing to the next Wonder Woman film. Like @oakhurst said, this is apparently "the first half of Chapter 1"; the next handful of films will probably get Diana going again.

Interesting that their writer's room included Christina Hodson (who did Birds of Prey and the abandoned Batgirl film), Drew Goddard (whose Sinister Six & X-Force projects never took off & who stepped off Netflix Daredevil early on), and Tom King (comic writer behind Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow).
