Also I knew someone was going to comment that but if you haven’t listened to her music since Friday, I’d hold off on judging. Her new music is great.

Hard pass unless Eli from the class of 2005 is the opener or an Icy Hot Stuntaz reunion

If you’re not going to give her new music a chance and just want to shit on Rebecca Black because of…a song from over a decade ago, why even comment? lol this thread is so funny sometimes. Good for her for taking back her career and actually making something out of it instead of only being known as “the Friday girl”. The way she has pivoted to actually great music is very cool.

I'm a bitter old man, I am not listening to Rebecca Black.. shit, it's been years since I've even listened to Frank Black and his solo stuff is underrated

I don’t listen to her but I do feel bad that her whole reputation is based off of one flop when she was so young. I feel like I’ve heard stories that it was her label who chose the direction of that song/pushed it to get hate views and basically let a child bear the damage from it

so the boygenius/LCD/Steve Lacy thing priced at $99 to start seems high, but per the news release includes this part, which IMO makes it more worth it:

Re:SET was conceived as an artist and fan friendly alternative to the standard summer concert experience. Taking place over four weekends in the month of June, each weekend will see three cities in the same region hosting, with each Re:SET headliner playing each city on consecutive days (see grid below for detailed information). The concept provides artists a respite from the cookie-cutter summer itinerary of sheds and amphitheaters, while fans get a leisurely day that features full sets from every artist, on one stage with no conflicts.

You don’t have to listen to Rebecca Black but you also don’t have to comment if your opinion is…over a decade outdated lol.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Better Rebecca Black than some of the pop punk that still gets shilled for in this thread. Or even Trivium.

I don't think it was quite as calculated as that. I thought (again, not sure) it was something her parents bought her (like you pay a company and they write the song, help produce it with her, shoot the video, etc) and it was kinda flukey how it blew up? Either way, good for her for taking it all in stride and owning her story and her future. Respect.

I like when people who trash others bands (that people may like) get upset when people make jokes about artists they like. It’s a fun level of saltiness.
