Looking stuff up, Nintendo must've had some deal with Wind-Up Records at that time since besides Seether and Finger Eleven, the soundtrack also had Cauterize and Boysetsfire. All four bands were on Wind-Up at the time. And then Finger Eleven and Cauterize were on the Fusion Tour with Evanescence, who was also on Wind-Up. Interesting stuff.

  6. I picked up the album they put out on Wind-Up and was kind of underwhelmed by it. I was obsessed with their second album, which I believe was independently released

I’ve literally never heard anyone on here talk about Cauterize until right now. They were local to me and fucking huge around my area. My shitty bands played some shows with them back in the day. Super nice guys and put on a really fun show. I miss them.

I forgot they did that, and now I'm remembering how weird I thought it was at the time to make a whole new album from the majority of the last album, although now I can appreciate the reasoning for doing so.

Seether did a passable cover of "Careless Whisper". Most I can say for them.

Was Seether the band that did quite the Nirvana impersonation? And/or, the one who had a later song very overtly inspired by a song on Brand New’s Daisy?

I don't know what you're referring to with the latter, and I don't know if the former is talking about their musical style or a literal Nirvana impersonation.

I remember I wandered into the Thrice thread once upon a time and a bunch of people were shitting on Seether for covering that song and indicating that Thrice would be disappointed.

That kind of kept me from participating in the music forum for a while, cause I really wasn't sure how conversations were going to go, since I appreciate such a wide variety of styles, and don't usually talk shit about bands.

In honor of Thrice having redone The Artist In The Ambulance, the band and album I would most like to see redone with a modern take is Chevelle's Point #1.

I want that album with better production, a tighter flow, and it would be so good, I feel it in my bones. I think they'd even kicked around the idea before, but I may be hallucinating that.

as a thrice lover, this is a respectable take that i'm here for because there are a lot of darlings this site loves that i think aren't the best.
