I fear this event is just too far under most people’s radar to even get that kinda treatment. The fact that the “youth” John D thinks he’s catering to literally don’t know or care about this festival might be the only thing that keeps it from becoming infamous.

at least people were talking about/interested in Fyre Fest and Astroworld before they became disasters.

this can’t be a compelling “fall from grace” story because outside of elder scene kids and us music nerds on this website, NO ONE gave a shit about this festival.

 

Who is disputing they ever agreed to play? I have to see this.

 

I always see people refer to that as their least favorite album, like consistently!

Oh wow! I’ve always thought it was held in high regard (usually below Through Being Cool and Stay What You Are)

 

I always thought the idea of playing your final show at a festival was kinda weird

 

Well we now have Palisades for sure + my friend manages a band on the lineup poster that dropped off months ago.

 

The day this gets cancelled is going to be so sad. This has been a constant source of laughter.

 

I was on the same page as you, it's my #3. It was a little bit misunderstood in it's time but in my experience, the people that love it, LOVE it.

 

Looking at the list of artists, man there is honestly maybe 5 or 6 people that would even play a venue larger than the Starland ballroom on there.

 

Adjacent's midcard - Coheed, Jimmy Eat World, Bleachers, Turnstile, Japanese Breakfast, Andrew McMahon - all play venues bigger than Bamboozle's "headliners."

They mocked Adjacent for "only having two headliners," but I guess by their standards Adjacent really has 10 headliners lol

 

The biggest draw on Boozle's lineup is Trippie Redd, who last played a 6k venue in the area. But it's the same venue Coheed has sold out in the past. Also the same size as Radio City, which Bleachers sold out last year.

To bounce off that, Trippie isn’t on the official lineup. We have no idea what’s happening behind the scenes with the 3 different posters floating around and bands claiming they aren’t even on the fest.

 

Remember a few months ago when people were speculating Demi Lovato was the pop headliner, and we all said she wouldn't be big enough to headline?
Remember when they promised a pop headliner?

 

This fest promised a lot of things. This guy would honestly be better off just admitting he messed up and apologizing instead of doubling down on everything. Eventually he’s just not going to have a festival.

 

John should’ve just kept his mouth shut the whole time. So much promised shit that he didn’t follow through with. The more and more I think about it, the more upset I get on behalf of the people that were planning to go to this. Everyone deserves better
