I'm not comparing their behavior to each other, I'm comparing this sites reverence to both those bands. Pre-cancellation anything Brand New-related put the site in freak-out mode.

Probably still do an LA show to warm up before-hand which will cause their fanbase to go into meltdown mode.

Interesting read (as always) by Bob Lefsetz regarding ticketing:

    More Ticketing

"We can delineate the splits of the fees, which most people still don’t understand, but they don’t get to the heart of the business, the history, and the fact that THE ACTS TAKE ALL THE MONEY!"

Who's gonna explain to Phil the importance of Blink to this site and scene.

No need, I've been here since 2003. I know that everyone has been creaming their pants over them for 2 + decades

Some days you come here and you look at the forum and go wow, what a really thought out important discussion about the music industry.

Other days you come on here and go “what a dumbass argument and a waste of everyone’s time.”

bet we can’t guess which column this argument falls into….

Not really an argument as much as a tossed off comment.

I also think they will do a LA or San Diego small club secret show before Tijuana.

Im curious about the bluff you mention.

Ah, so you do understand the reverence for them. Understood.

Wait… So they got tricked into playing this festival? I’m confused

They probably asked for absurd fee and the festival actually delivered, hence why they playing it.

It sounds like they got an offer from the festival at a heightened booking fee and took the offer to use as leverage for their other dates/festival booking fees. Not sure if that's what they're implying though.

Beyoncé stadium dates coming next week. We thinking Taylor level demand and chaos?

Festival wanted them, band made a huge offer and festival said yes thinking the festival was not gonna pay that much money. A lot of the locals here feel like the festival blew all of their budget in Blink because they were promising a 70% international artists + 30% national artist festival and it's not what we got.

I mean, most of the bands are Mexico-based, and probably make more sense in the market. The american acts, JXDN, Hot Milk, & Sueco are more or less from what I expect from a fifth-wave pop-punk lineup, although Hot Milk are the only ones I'd go out of my way to see.

Close but not at the Swift level. Beyonce, and no knock against her, does not have the same perception of personal involvement with her fanbase that Swift does which I think drives the Swiftie fury even more.

The 2020 lineup was all international acts, so people were expecting a similar lineup for it. And I do like some of the Mexican bands playing, and there are 2 of them that Im really excited to see in there.

Nah, it won’t be nearly as much of a shit show. I don’t think she’ll play as many shows as Taylor, have feeling this will be a shorter tour focused on A markets.

Hopefully they do a USA run at some point this year

They would be leaving so much money on the table if they didn’t. I fully expect a handful of shows at the least but a full tour would be ideal.

I imagine they have to. I recall they teased the possibility of it last year. The last full U.S. tour they did was in support of their recent album too. The demand is high
