I'll agree Kirk's solo was cool, but the song overall just sounds extremely average to me.

New Metallica just sounds way too sanitized for thrash metal. Kirk's playing is still top notch though.

 

It's in the same lane as the Bolt Thrower or Slayer sweatsuit drip I saw on Instagram for one of the bootleg guys I follow, but for deathcore kids. I'll allow it.

My sole contribution to this thread and the only metal release I really had in regular rotation last year was Mors Principium Est's re-recording of songs from their first three albums. It's a great starting point for those who haven't listened to them before and like sick melo death riffs.

 

Grabbed my Austin ticket this morning.
