Loveee TCV, that'd be a sick get for Riot.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

TCV would be sick, but I don’t see them headlining. I could see them as direct support on a main stage tho

No Chicago date. It would be fun seeing HH at Riot

  4. Guessed 2/3 on that tour, was totally wrong about thinking Spitalfield wouldn't do a big tour. I'm indifferent about HH, but I really hope the other two play Riot.

Pantera has a show the Friday of Riot in Virginia with Lamb of God and list the August 2024 show with Metallica as their Chicago date so I'd officially put them as very doubtful..

I was thinking, Lamb of God could play Riot in the days off of the Pantera tour. And they could close the same stage if Mastodon or Gojira plays

did Pantera state they are only doing each city 1 time only? if not the dates line up pretty well for riot, could easily play sunday.

im not getting hopes up about that mastodon/goirja package anymore after realizing the Hammond IN doubles as chicago

Mastadon & Gojira are out, Hammond is their Chicago market show a month before Riot

They aren't playing any of the cities with Metallica in 2024 in their released 2023 dates

Pantera announce headlining tour with Lamb of God

So again, I'm going VERY DOUBTFUL

I told my buddy that I was positive that Pantera were not playing for a lot of reasons, but really hit hard on them not "fitting the carefully curated Riot vibe", so I hope I don't have to admit I'm wrong on this one...

Riot booking racist ass Phil Anselmo would be a new low for them, IMHO, especially when the festival already struggles in booking an equitable amount of POC.

i think the fact that Inkcarceration & Louder than life both had to do a "pantera is playing, rest of the line up coming later" announcement today to coincide with Pantera releasing their poster makes me think that if they were playing riot, riot would have had to do that too, so now im leaning 'not at riot'

After a year of "there's no way RF would book MGK" and then a year of "there's no way NIN can play LA and then be in Chicago the next night", I'm not ruling out Pantera til they have other shows booked on all the dates or RF drops the lineup lol

I'm not ruling them out, but all factors I previously mentioned, esp. the Metallica show next year in Chicago (they aren't playing any of the other cities in 2024 with Metallica on their tour itinerary with Lamb of God) leads me to think that it's VERY DOUBTFUL.

Bringing in Pantera invites a whole lot of cops to come to Riot Fest and that’s gonna be a shitshow.

They just did massive shows in South America without any incidents.. and the same people saying Pantera shouldn't play have wanted ICP at Riot... c'mon.

There's maybe a 3% chance Pantera play Riot this year (and 0% chance they play in 2024), can we just stop talking about it LOL.

I’m not attacking the band in any way. It’s just what a good portion of the fan base includes. Same thing with Metallica. That’s reality.

I’ve never once wanted ICP at any festival. Keep those fucks and their gangs away from everything

that said i don't see them playing riot. they'll play every other metal-adjacent festival though.

  24. I'm fully out on Pantera playing now too. Lamb of God could still be possible.

But what I really want based on today's news is Gatsby's.

If somebody says Pantera is gonna play Riot Fest, send them the link to past year's line-ups and ask them to find the metal bands in the top three lines of the poster that don't have a lot of punk/hardcore crossover in terms of fans and/or a gimmick... There really aren't any. It's been 10 years. Why start now?

    Wait, what news is this?!!
