Big agree on Sunshine Riptide, my favorite track on Mania. I feel like they fully committed with that one and I love any and every guest feature they have on their work.

LFTOS is my favorite FOB song since the Cork Tree days. (I’m a casual fan.)

 

It’s very sad to see Joe step away right now. Though if you read his book, it’s not entirely surprising. The guy definitely struggles on a day-to-day basis, I hope this break gives him the help he needs.

 

Though sad, it’s a huge win that Joe recognizes his situation and is making the move to get better. Great on him for navigating that given the current positioning of the band.

Agreed. We’ve seen a lot darker endings in this scene, so I commend him for recognizing he needs help and not pushing himself.

That would be Ben Chandler, Joe’s guitar tech for some time now. I think he did a great job!

Also it was pretty emotional seeing them perform as a trio in a triangle formation last night. Lineup has been the same 4 guys for 20 years now and this has never happened.

I feel the same way. I was thinking today that I can't remember a time when anyone from FOB didn't play a show. I feel like they are one of those rare bands where it's always been them. No matter what. Very strange to see them without Joe.

 

I wonder if there is a reason that the good Charlotte book was next to theirs and they have the cutaway shot of it falling over. Sort of bringing attention to that one book? Wonder if Good Charlotte will be touring with them on this album cycle?

to my very intense fan knowledge (lol), this hasn’t happened as I don’t know of a single other drummer that has filled in (outside of Marky Ramone during a 2013 show in Brooklyn and if I recall correctly Andy took up a guitar during this song which was incredibly sick), but it has happened with Joe on at least two separate occasions post-hiatus. once to have his first back surgery and once when his mother passed away. who he had a very, very complicated relationship with as detailed in his book.

 

highly doubt it only as since returning from the hiatus, fall out boy has nearly refused to go for the nostalgia play with openers and usually opt for Pete’s latest DCD2 signee or someone “up and coming”. people are also speculating hawthorne heights based on their bait tweet they made recently, but i guarantee you they would have never been allowed to tweet that if it was gonna be this big of a tour.
