  1. So we made one lowball bid and then backed out lol and now we’re going for a guy that’s injured a few times per season

Conte was asked about Kane's contract situation and the start of his answer was, "why do I have to answer a difficult question?" :crylaugh:

    25 is so young. Wow.

In happier news, Enoch Mwepu has been released from hospital

  9. In other news, reports out of Portugal are saying our latest offer for Porro was €35m + bonuses + removing the 50% sell clause we have for Marcus Edwards......and Sporting turned it down. That seems more valuable than the 45m release clause.

  12. Seems like a good deal for Arsenal. He'll be a nice fit in their style of play.

Doesn't appear like we were too interested and are now pursuing Zaniolo. The idea behind that is that Conte/Paratici prefer stronger and more physical players.....but what's the point if he's so injury prone? I'd still be happy with Zaniolo but just seems like a big risk.

I know as a United fan I can't talk, but £27m for a player with less than 6 months on his contract and who had just gone on strike for his current club, at 28 years old with likely little resell value, feels quite a lot.

Course, if the squad depth he provides wins Arsenal the title, it's a bargain.

  14. They had an extension clause on him so I think it was 18-months.

Yeah, they are had apparently just extended it by a year. And I think we wanted to get it done quickly.

Seeing reports that it’s 21m + add ons.

Yeah fair enough. At the end of the day, there's like a week or so left of the window and they've just been gazumped for their main target. Arsenal have seen an opportunity on the market, and valued the warm body for their title charge over the extra £5m-£10m sat in their bank. Can't argue.

I can only hope if Newcastle come in for Gordon, as being reported again, that he goes more the way of Rodwell than Rooney. I've got nothing against the Newcastle fans in this thread but it would be royally frustrating if Howe got a tune out of him as he's been a liability recently.

    It's all hell.

Very happy with Trossard. Him + somebody who can add depth to the two CM roles in this window would be very nice.

I mean, he’s been crap this season anyway. Not sure if he has a recurring issue besides the face mask? Maybe whoever steps in can give you something else.

  22. I’m hoping it means we switch to a 352 but I’m assuming it’ll be Richarlison starting at LW instead.

This is really heart warming, but also, really sad. It shows Cardiff manager Mark Hudson announcing to his kids that he has the job, and then telling them he has lost it.

We don’t often consider this side of things when discussing “Lampard out” or whatever. These are humans with families and loved ones whose whole life can get uprooted.

Mark joined as a coach and got promoted internally to manager. It hasn’t gone well and now he has lost his job. Credit to him and his family for how supportive they are. His kids hugging him was a really touching moment.

  25. I don’t think he turned us down. Brighton did because we’re cheap bastards lol
