Yeah, it was a major bummer to read (especially since FOB just came back after a break), but I’m glad he’s taking time to tackle it over doing a nationwide tour.

 

Hope he finds the peace he needs.

Holy moly, a return to form!! If I pretend everything after Folie A Deux didn't happen, I can get super excited about this album.

I mean, I just can't get behind choruses that try to emulate EDM breakdowns with guitars haha.

But it sounds like that's in the past now. I'm getting a heavier IOH vibe from this song (one of my favorite albums of all time). And on second listen, it's so, so, so good.

All I’ve wanted is another record in the vein of Folie so even if it’s in spirit - I am DOWN AS HELL

 

I’ve never listened to this before but it’s so fun.

 

I am not exaggerating when I say that Folie à Deux is and probably always will be my favorite album of all time. Not just within Fall Out Boy’s discography. So yeah if they made this in any sort of similar process, should be amazing.

This combined with the fact that Pete and Patrick got into literal fist fights in the studio over what parts should or shouldn’t make the record is why Folie is what it is.

 

Oh yeah - Folie is hands down my favorite FOB record by milesssss. It’s the only record of theirs I own on vinyl too.

Oh I like the vibe a lot. I get reminded of Sunshine Riptide a little, which was one of my favorites from MANIA. I wonder how much got revamped, unless they just share lyrics.

 

It wasn’t explicitly detailed, but I think it’s safe to say yes. He mentions at length in his new book contributing more than ever to the writing of this next record. And how Patrick even paused production of it on his behalf during an illness (can’t remember if it was clarified as mental or physical). And he obviously shreds here.

Obviously a separate issue on hand than the reasoning for stepping away right now, but a friend of mine came up with the idea of having Joe play on an inversion table and just dressing it up as part of the set scenery to aid with his back issues. That could be pretty awesome. But he mentions in the book that it’s a degenerative condition, so it’s only going to get worse with time. Which means inevitably there is going to come a time where he will have to stop touring with them entirely. Hoping we’re not already there.
