Why would anyone listen to any pop-punk band in 2023 that isn't PUP or The Dirty Nil

I'm familiar. It's been a while.

 

Haven't posted here in forever, and that likely will continue to be the case because of how people are still treated, but lemme see if I understand this: the OP's post is considered a personal attack, but not the one directly before it from Armsliketeeth towards The Black Parade? Cause if that is the case, that is a very mixed, and frankly hypocritical, message. Neither should be okay, and the fact that one is somehow weighted and punished more heavily than the other is why I, and many others out there, choose to no longer engage with this place.

 

Love both bands but this is a shit take

 

If you wanna say that ArmsLileTeeth’s post should be given equal weight whatever, but the dude still loses because he attacked me pretty much unprovoked and called me ItsMussolini

I still think the big allegations are bonkers and am baffled that every person in this scene wants to pretend they didn't know exactly what this band's shtick was up until it started to taper off around 2016. I also understand there will never be any discussion of this band without half a dozen poop posts (v cute, thank you male-centric humor). All you can do is ensure people know facts and context and let them make up their mind or ban anything non-allegation related, but I have no idea what coming into a thread to fight and shame someone does. This thread would've organically died in 3 posts if y'all let it.

I’ve always chuckled at people that says “posts like this is why I and many others stay away!”

But in my experience talking to some of the women that have left the site, they reference similar users as to why they stopped coming around.

It would be nice if some users on here supported women/POC/marginalized artists the way they support (often times white) dudes who are sexual abusers but hey I guess some folks still want to keep the same AP culture around here

 

they made it quite clear how frequently they still lurk lol

 

FWIW, I think there's a pretty big difference between calling someone out for making light of discussion of allegations as entertainment and literally going out of your way to screenshot a user's profile and photoshopping a meme but I think somebody should lock the shit out of this thread

 

OP is going to make another one and the situation will repeat itself though.
